I just purchased a new Jeep Wrangler Willys 4-door with the OEM hitch. With a mounted spare on the back, hooking up a trailer to the hitch has you working in a tight space. I stumbled upon this product while reviewing trailer extensions for the Jeep. Whoever designed this hitch extension knew something about trailers and Jeeps. This extension appears rugged and has two(2) settings, 7" and 9." In addition, it has a bolt threaded in the receiver which can be removed or utilized--I guess--for bike racks. And finally, you can purchase one with the correct drop to accommodate your Jeep's height. I decided on the 2" drop for my needs. If I had to find any faults, I would say this product has only two(2) negatives. The first is that it is made in China and the second being that it doesn't come with a hitch pin. So be sure to consider the last point when ordering this product if you are into one stop shopping.

This hitch is solid built, I tow a lightweight 2800 lbs trailer camper with it; more than 4000 miles as of now June 26, 2024. Yet it does NOT fit snug in the vehicle receiver. Hence it rattles. I have inserted some 2-3 mm aluminum strips vertically and horizontally which helped with the stability. I wish they did a better job in fitting these in a standard receiver.

I won't ever be towing the weight limit for this hitch extension on my SUV but you can't cut corners when you're towing a vacation package. I saw lighter weight riser extensions for only $20 cheaper but and opted for this one.

It took a couple of different ones to get the right one but this one works the best for my need. My scooter carrier for my car was sitting too high and I needed a couple inches lower so I can get my scooter on easier.

I installed a front-facing hitch on my Expedition so that I could mount a winch to the front or rear for greater flexibility. I had an occasion recently to use it facing forwards, only to discover I couldn't actually make it work because the license plate bracket got in the way. I went looking for extensions, but most were really poor quality and very lightweight. I didn't want to mount a 4,000 pound capacity extension between a 10,000 pound hitch and a 10,000 pound winch. This extension was perfect. It fits exactly in front of the license plate bracket, raises up the winch slightly higher for better ground clearance, and it's got a 10,000 pound capacity. It's an incredibly heavy chunk of steel, really solidly built.

I landed on toptow because the other more popular 6" riser brand has a defect where the come made not level. I notice my bike rack was uneven and lopsided. After taking a small torpedo level I confirmed that it was the hitch riser. Toptow is better quality and welded level. Yes, sometimes cheaper isn't always the best product. Also, with this package it's a very good value vs purchasing the hitch lock, 2 x anti- wobble clamps and rubber hitch cap separately. So far, I highly recommend this hitch riser package!
