***UPDATE*** Received replacement today and it is perfect. As long as you wash and dry by hand and try not to bang it in the sink, etc. enameled cast iron cookware will last a long time. This is my eighth piece and I’m hooked — will never go back to any other type of cookware.This sauce pan is exactly what I was looking for. However, when I received it today (a day early which was nice) it had large chips in the enamel on either side of the handle. I returned it this afternoon and opted to take a chance and reorder it. I’ll update my review after I receive the replacement.

Definitely for multiple portions. It’s cast iron, so its weight is not surprising. The enamel is clean, and the lid fits perfectly. Great condensation on the lid, as wellWhen you season the rim, make sure you invert the pot on the rack (rim down) to prevent any stains.

I needed a small versatile2-3 quart pot that kept steam in. Primarily it’s used for rice. And the results were perfect But it can go in the oven for anything a big Dutch oven could do. I’ve used it for baking chicken thighs in wine for four- wonderful results. I followed direction to wipe the rim of the lid with oil(seasoning) because it is not enameled like the rest of the pot. But experience has proven to simply room drying the pot and lid separately (mold occurred within when put together after sink washing and towel drying . That’s a good testimony to how snug the lid fits though. The top handle goes without issue into the oven btw. I handle it with respect knowing chips into enamel can happen if bumped around. Solid A purchase excellent value
