Over the last few weeks, IlI have returned three helmets and I can say I have finally found the winner. I’ve been looking for a BMX-ish type helmet for cruising around the hood on my bike. Two of the helmets were advertised incorrectly as applying to biking or are questionable on safety—advertised with [certification] but with no markings or stickers lending credit to the claim. They also came only in a tied-off bag...sketchy. The third one had such a large dome that it made my head look huge....probably a safe helmet, but not the youthful look I was after.Opened the amazon box and was extremely happy to find the helmet in packaging worthy of a new helmet from a store. The box had the advertised certifications right on the front of the box. Additionally, the inside of the helmet had certification stickers and mfg date/lot stickers. All the info in the helmet and on the box made me feel like I was getting a legit safe product. I got the glass black helmet and it’s about as glossy as a highly polished car. I’m talking 95% mirror gloss. I like the green color of the brand stickers and the chin strap. Only one strap is green, the other is black. It also comes with a large orange sticker to slap on something and additional pads. The space/cut-outs above the ears is ample. The thickness of the inner impact foam and the shell along with the overall shape is just right. I feel like I’d be protected but also don’t look like a commuter. The fit is nice. With the pads, it sits on your skull cap evenly and is cushioned just right. Nowhere does it compress or rub on a given spot. There isn’t a back adjustment cage/dial to tighten it down, but it actually sits/fits so well when the straps are properly adjusted. Because of this, I wasn’t overly concerned it wasn’t going to stay on should I go airborne and skid on my melon. The air port holes aren’t very big but still allow enough airflow to move through that you won’t get too too sweaty. This helmet was a winner. I liked it so much I was adding my own stickers to it after only 5 minutes. I’d highly recommend this helmet and we’ll probably get another one for the family.

This will protect your brain. It's cheap, strong, easy to adjust, the color black is a really cool color, and feel comfortable without it's sliding around.

Nice helmet for the fit and for the protection. You will fall from skateboarding, biking, skating, etc. Get a helmet that fits your head and is durable.

This helmet is cool looking, solid color, has air holes all along the top for breathing and most importantly is certified all the way across the board. I don;t know if a lot of parents realize that only certain helmets meet safety guidelines for actual protection should an accident really occur. Many helmets are marketed only for recreational use. This one meets US standards for skateboarding, rollerskating, and even bicycle riding for children over the age of 5. That is a good standard to see met .Bicycling involves more accidents with riders and vehicles than say skateboarding or rollerskating does so if your helmet meets bicycling standard it should be pretty decent. It may be less comfortable to wear as far as the inner padding goes but whats more important. And that is not to say that this helmet is uncomfortable. My son gives no complaints when wearing it and i can not even begin to describe his level of picky. He really likes it. I included a few photos so you can see the inner padding and the breathing holes as well as the meets standard labels inside. We have been using ours for a good while so don't mind the scuffs, yours will come brand new and shiny just like ours did. I would definitely recommend this helmet to anyone with a child 5 or older. As far as sizing goes my son is 9 years old and i believe what would be considered average size and i purchased the small/medium and it fits great. The measurement for the small/medium is 21.5"-22.75". make sure you measure because you really want the correct fit. That is how it protects your head best, only when it fits properly. And be sure you wear this straight across the forehead not pulled back exposing the forehead. Again that may be more comfortable or seem more natural like a baseball cap, but that will not provide you with the protection it was meant for. That's all i got.thanks.

Great helmet but the sizing is a little off. I'd size up if you're on the upper end of their range.

I bought this helmet along with the Protec Certified. Both Helmets are pretty much the same helmet from a protection standpoint. I saw various reviews comparing the shapes of both helmets with Protec being more round & Triple 8 being more oval. I was not really sure how my head would fit so I purchased both to compare. Looking at the helmets you can clearly see the shape difference. Protec is more round and Triple 8 more oval. I first tried the Protec and It looks more pronounced of a mushroom (round) on my head and there is more space (loose) in the temples so yea it is round and I realized my head is more oval shaped. The triple 8 is for sure more oval and fit my head more evenly all around and had no gap near the temples. With the padding people complain but I have had many helmets and the padding is NOT BAD. I am not saying it's good but for sure not bad.h compared to the Protec that is pretty thin! Triple 8 offers two sets of liners with different thickness and the thinner one is still thicker than the Protec. I think the perfect helt might just be the Triple 8 Certified sweatsaver which I will give a try.Long story short; same exact helmet safety wise as Protec, Triple 8 for oval heads and decent liner pads with two options.

I commute to work on cycle, in the summer ive been using a Giro Helmet, as its gotten colder and darker i wanted something with less vents because of cold air and with more protection.* I have a very large cranium, its got its own moon and seasons, i have struggled with sizes of helmets and hats for years, this large size fits very well. Its snug without being overly tight, i would have loved a little extra cushioning by means of interchangeable pad inserts, you do get some with it but they are like for like, which in fairness is also a decent feature.*The helmet is less than a hundred grammes heavier than my Giro lid which is very lightweight, at under 450g its light considering the amount of plastic casing it has.* I still wanted some vents to allow partial air travel into the lid, this does just that, theres no need to get sweaty in a full lid. I didnt think i could fit a helmet mounted light, or a camera if i decide to get one, however i have done using cable ties as pictured. One tip would be not to tighten them too much as they could cut into the foam, however they are not noticeable on the head when wearing.* After a month of wearing it has not become less comfortable, the pads are intact and cushioning remains the same as the day i put it on, it feels robust, its obviously got a lot of fans in extreme sports so the fact its also so versatile as an everyday commuter lid is great.* With having minimal vents i find it useful for storing gloves, keys etc, something i couldnt do before with a fully vented lid.* The chin strap is totally adjustable and fairly easy to do, fits right under the chin and doesnt sit on it, a cushioned pad might be useful if you want it really tight but you can easily make one yourself out of the extra pads supplied if necessary.* It appears solid, im not shy in chucking it around and so far no scratches or dents etc, that said the ultimate sturdiness test is a crash and not something you really want to test! I feel confident however it would perform well and so for me this is the most important factor.* Overall its a fantastic looking helmet, the large size is nice and snug and its lightweight but with obvious protection advantages over a more traditional cycle helmet. Buy one if your looking for a well made premium helmet thats both great looking and sturdy!

It is very small. Helmet M indicated that its suitable for 56cm but its not rue. All the other brand fits in this size range but this. It would not have been a big issue if it would have been possible to return the item but its not the case. Too expensive for not being able to wear.
