Amazing rod and I highly recommend it. I've been using it very aggressively the last year with nothing to complain about at all. Long review but worth a read if you're a fisherman looking for details.Shipping: The box was huge for the rod and everything came in great shape.I'll start by saying I never intended to use the reel it came with so I can't include that in my review. However.. I had wanted one of these for a long time and am extremely happy with it. I treat this rod as my universal species rod. It's been an absolute beast.Personally a 2pc rod is a must for trunk space. This rod also translates well in your hand.Every nibble or bite is felt thru the rod right into your palm at the reel base. I have missed far less fish since using this rod.Versatile is definitely the word to use with your lures on this rod. Spinners, spoons, jigs, rattle traps, swim bait, soft plastics, etc. I've had any trouble on a lure yet and I'm a bait fisherman by default so working a lure... Yeah I'm no pro, but this rod makes it easy to swap between lures all day on the same pole.My only complaint is I didn't buy two of them...yet.

I love the rod and reel, I’ve used Ugly Stik for a long time but ordering on Amazon is a shot in the dark. As many others have noted the item arrived missing the reel handle nut. I decided returning it was a hassle and just ordered the part for $5. I wish they would send you the missing item without returning the whole rod and reel and potentially getting a replacement that is also missing the hardware.

I like this the reel it came with is actually quite nice to I might also buy a light version to the handle is long but the one I got is 7 feet for being a medium action it's still pretty whippy which I prefer

This set was a birthday present for my grandson. He promptly went out and caught 3 fish on the first outing. That in itself is recommendation enough

Handle came off during first use. There may have been a pin missing all along. Came detached after several casts. Found the handle parts on the ground but no pin. Also, the picture shows a Shakepeare reel, but the one I received just says Ugly Stik. Lastly, I can not say how long the rod itself will hold up.

My friend found it to be their best rod yet has had no issues and has caught more than 30 fish since I gifted it to them great rod

Rod is awesome, reel handle is plastic and weak. broke off of rod during shipping.Ridiculous shipping container, giant oversize box, with rod prone to sticking out through packaging during shipping

Been fishing with it a few times and it seems to be very solid. No problems. I would recommend it for those who want decent quality and don't want to pay a fortune.
