Only takes a few minutes to install the All-Metal handle & cable with a screwdriver and needle-nose pliers.
Step 1: Remove the handle screws with a screwdriver from the recliner, gently pull/pry the broken handle assembly out.
Step 2: Remove the "Z/S" cable end from the recliner mechanism. Then pinch the retaining clip where the cable is mounted and remove it.
Step 3: Replace the new handle & cable kit, connect the cable "Z/S" end into the recliner mechanism, insert the cable mounting bracket. OK, you can adjust Exposed length now, for more perfect fit your mechanism.
Step 4: Tighten the screws and complete the recliner handle cable replacement easily!

We bought this to replace a plastic one which broke off our Costco sofa recliner. We love the couch and were so pleased that this fit in perfectly. It was a like for like match, minus the broken one being plastic. We couldn't be happier with the new replacement. It's a high quality metal so it won't break like the original one did. It has screw holes in the same place for easy replacement. There are two on the back and two on the sides to accommodate a number of installation types. I watched the 23 second video someone else had posted and I had mine installed it about two minutes more because I lost a screw. Super easy to install and the handle is very easy to pull without causing pain to my arthritic hands. I may even buy a second to replace the other side since it's so much easier to pull. Only complaint was it not coming with instructions, but nothing Youtube can't help you with. I would still highly recommend buying this item to make all your movie night cuddling that much better.

My (fairly expensive) chair had a plastic pull handle...and when the cable broke I ordered this as a replacement. This unit looks nice and feels nicer in the hand. It also feels stronger. The entire installation took 12 minutes - and that included me gathering my tools and flipping the chair over and back when done.
