It is a major upgrade from the original plastic recliner handle. Made of metal and much more durable than the original. Saved you a lot of repair money

Easy install and fit perfectly. This cable fit perfectly and installation only took 4 minutes. Just make sure you have the right measurements.

Only takes five minutes to install:

  1. All that was needed was a cross-point screwdriver and needle-nose pliers.
  2. you need to do is extend the footrest to relieve tension on the release handle, pull the release lever to access the 2 screws.
  3. Remove screws, gently pull/pry the broken handle assembly out. Notice exactly which hole the cable connects to.
  4. Pinch the bracket where the cable is mounted and remove the cable.
  5. Replace with the new one in reverse of these directions And voila your back in business.

Very simple to install. Better quality than original parts. Saved us purchasing a new couch.

This is a much higher quality cable replacement than originally came with the chair. Original was plastic, this one is quality metal. It even has a helper spring on the linkage end of the cable, the original did not.Much easier to install than I anticipated. Remove two screws, use pliers to squeeze a clip out of the frame, and wiggle the S shaped thing on the end of the cable out of the linkage.I recommend this cable. Did I mention it's metal?

When something like the lever for your recliner breaks, it's kind of frustrating because, initially, you just don't know what to do. I was surprised at how readily available a replacement is.This replacement comes in a generic plastic wrapper and includes the handle assembly along with a cable. Only the parts are included--there are no instructions. Replacement videos can easily be found online. Since only my handle broke, I was hoping that I wouldn't need the cable (and I didn't). In my case, the old handle was attached with two screws which you need to save because the new one does not include screws. The cable came off the broken handle and onto the replacement fairly easily, but I did take my time and really study how it attached. The entire job took less than 10 minutes, the replacement looks almost identical to the old one and the recliner works like it should. So, all good!!
