This relay says multi purpose but is actually a fuel system relay. I replaced the original relay with this one, cleared the codes and it works like a charm. It's a good trouble shooting relay due to the low price and I would recommend, if this solves the issue, you get a VW or Bosch relay and save this one as an emergency relay.

I bought this as a spare for emergency on the road. The part number is correct for my 2000 VW Eurovan. However, installing it brings odd behaviors. For some reasons, the headlights went on by themselves as soon as you start the engine. Put the original back and everything is back to normal. This is very odd since I didn't think that the fuel pump relay would have anything to do with headlights, but it did!
