It has no instructions and I'm not electronic wizard. It's very light plastic and displayed amperage when connected to a dead battery.

I had an old Sears 6amp battery changer. The built-in Ammeter failed years ago. My father-in-law bought it for me in 1978. The charger still works.I was able to trim the front panel hole a little bigger to fit this ammeter. It works perfectly. I compared it to my DMM ammeter and it was within 0.25 amps. Works great. I'd buy another if I ever need it. The charger should last another 40+ years.

I find this to be an excellent general purpose DC Amp meter. I have bought several of these as well as the 2A, 5A, and 15A versions from Uxcell. Up to the 15A size at least, they are self contained and do not require an external shunt. They just go directly in series in the circuit. I am using them mounted in small wood box panels with solar charge controllers to monitor charging and load currents. Nice price and a quick way to monitor performance. Plug in one of these: and no more need to be flying blind!

The packaging was inadequate and the item was damaged upon receipt. I was able to repair it and have been using it.

FINALLY got around to using this and it is great. I had an overnight battery drain in my truck. Used this to find the culprit and it was pretty easy. If it doesn't read, reverse the polarity. I hooked it up backwards at first and it doesn't read anything. The plastic is clear, bold printing on face, and the needle is super thin but bright neon tip is pretty visible. It was several feet away from me and I could read it.

It arrived promptly and was exactly as pictured. I've bought 4 of these now and they all seem to be very accurate.The reason I didn't mark it 5 stars is that I like a larger amp meter for my uses better. These a definitely useful though.

This is a great, old-school meter that made my 50 year old battery charger look almost like new again. Installation was very basic. All screws, fasteners, and connectors were included. Very pleased. I'm sorry I waited so long to consider this simple solution to my damaged, original gauge.
