Gate valve is perfect fit for use in central vacuum system in workshop! Yeah, they may cost twice as much as any aluminum blast gate you can buy for rockler or woodcraft buy they hook the 3 inch pvc line without adapters or tape. Plus 4 inch flex hose fits over the outside diameter snug and needs only one clamp to make a secure connection. No whistling, no silicone bead needed, nothing. My system runs a 2HP Jet canister through a SDD, 6 inch mainline, 4 inch branches reduced to 3 inch for the gate valves and then to 4 inch hose or 2.5 inch hose at four stations. You will not be disappointed using these as blast gates.

This valve is advertised as being unrestricted flow. It may very well be, but the inside diameter is reduced by about 1/8'' by the gate's rubber seal. This leaves the opening diameter at 2 7/8''. Also, when the valve is fully open, a small piece of the gate is still in the flow. It just doesn't quite lift completely out of the way. Maybe they should advertise it as nearly unrestricted flow. All in all, though, it's still a very good product. I am using this on a 7-foot high waterfall project, where I am trying to maximize total flow.

I purchased these for my dust management system in my shop. I use 3" pvc for the long runs and flexible tubing into the tools. The gates normally sold for that purpose are horrible; they stick, leak, and fall closed when you want them open.These vent gates, although more expensive are perfect for the job. No regrets.

Used in a travel trailer drain, was very glad to see it was made in Mexico, part of the Americas. Was actually a high quality unit and it’s bolted together allowing it to be serviced.

plastic top broke off when i pulled the handle up. the gate pulled right out of the valve this is the second one to do that. cheap plastic!! will not buy again going to try the camco valve

I am giving 4 stars only because I can't attest to the valves performance when used with liquids. I used these as part of a ventilation system, and they work great for air.

Installed them between the fish tanks and filter that replaces the old one. For some of them, I just changed the knife block only. Works well and no leak anymore. Can't complain and will order it again. The valve seal material seems to be pretty good and reliable.
