I've ordered these multiple times now for use in my RV. I put one beyond my water pump to stop the possibility of city water backing up into the fresh tank. I also replaced one of the cheap plastic ones that came with the trailer with this instead. I love that they are brass and they seem heavy and substantial when you pick them up. They seem like a good, quality product and worth the extra cost.

This is used to prevent hot water from flowing into the cold water line in the RV when I turn the showerhead off via the valve in the shower head hose. The problem is that turning the shower head back on released hot water from both the hot and cold water lines and yields scaling hot water for 4 or 5 seconds depending on how long the shower heat water was off. With this unit in the cold water line, the water temperature is unchanged when the shower heat hose valve is opened.This unit does present some pressure drop in the forward direction, but not enough to be a problem. Whereas the hot water was previously on full and temperature was controlled with the cold water handle, now the cold water is full on and the temperature is controlled by the hot water handle.

Was a direct fit for my water heater. Old valve was hard to get out but new one went in easy and works like a charm. No more squealing water tap and was able to winterize trailer without pouring antifreeze out through the water heater onto the ground.

The old check valve was not checking anymore, caused me a real headache when trying to winterize. This was a quick 10 min install and everything works perfect again.
