I wish I had owned this type of device years ago! In this era of not totally trusting the integrity of transistors purchased cheaply overseas, this device provides the means of getting most of the details you'd really want to know: NPN or PNP? Silicon? order BEC or BCE? C-E protection diode? hFE? I just used it to determine that all 12 of the 12 previous inexpensive eBay-purchased transistors were not what the silk-screened stencil ID on the devices claimed. That info likely saved me both time and money in effecting repair of some expensive electronic units.I think the price is perhaps a bit more than it should be, BUT I still rated "value for money" at 5 stars because of how much it will benefit my operation.I would recommend this product for anyone who does a fair amount of repair work and also to experimenters/hobbyists who buy transistors from various sources and can't always be certain of the devices' integrity.

Excellent tool for testing transistors. Incredibly easy to use and accurate as far as I can tell. Let's you know if it's good or not and how much gain the transistor has. Works perfectly for my needs.

I debated purchasing one of these due to the cost but finally did and it has been worth it so far. Very easy to use and great for finding the transistor pinout and hFE for my DIY guitar pedals.

this works very well, and is worth the cost if you get a lot of unmarked parts, or you have marked parts and want to know if they're good. In some cases, you might need to sort parts so you get two that are similar in gain for a balanced circuit. This can help you do that with a good level of confidence.

I love this tester. It is super simple to use, and provides data about semiconductors that cannot be gleaned by simply measuring with a meter. I found most of the transistors in an amp I was working on to be functional but weak, so I know to replace them.Very nice gadget.

This is a great tool if your working with Germanium Transistors. You can check the gain and leakage super easy. Works with Silicone Transistors also. Well worth the money if your on the fence about this item as i was at first, I say buy it!

Nice getting a user manual, makes things much easier, this one does a little more though.The unit itself is very well made, good solid plastic and clear legible print.Make sure you discharge anything, especially capacitors, before connecting.The more I have used it the more I enjoy it.

J'ai mesuré quelques composants dont les JFET. La réponse de l'appareil : c'est un JFET et indique la Gate, c'est totalement insuffisant comme indication ! J'avais utilisé auparavant un DCA75 qui me donnait entièrement satisfaction. Je pensais que seul le transfert vers un PC faisait la différence. La notice est mensongère.
