This is perfect for taking measurements that are very accurate down to 1/16" of an inch. It has measurements even smaller than that but that's not what I'm looking for from this gague. If I am looking for accurate measurements finer than that I will get my digital version out for that. I use a metal ruler when needed or perhaps a tape measure? It's super simple and easy to use. Top quality and value. It's not the easiest thing to read,but that's as more about my eyes than the caliper itself.

caliper outside measurement is right on the depth dauge is .002 offworks well for the price

Caliper is well made and accurate in Metric. But if you need to use inches with fractions, its very hard to find.The lines are in 10th increments and 5th for halves. You will not get an accurate 1/16" measurement. It will be between lines. . . . . . .Like 3-1/6" the Caliper will be in-between the lines. Hard TO USE FOR INCHES

This item isdecently machined and the gradations are finely inscribed. The "thumbwheel" is simple knurled rounded protrusion which allows you to slide the pieces of the calipers and is not a rack and pinion assembly, At least there is a locking screw. Built of relatively heavy aluminum (depth gauge appears to be steel) and fitted with a nice plastic case, this will nicely fit my general needs.

Calibration is .25cm’s off. In my field of work this can cause an aircraft to fail. How can we get this removed from Amazon this will literally cost people there lives.
