This will last a very long time. You will have to tape on a self printed to inside the case. It to is very strong and will last for many years. Good buy.

I am using this for wood turning, so precision isn't want i am looking for. If I can measure inner width or outer width and lock the opening and transfer to the turning blank, it accomplishes the job. So functionally, this does everything I needed.Why 4 stars and not 5? Well, some of the edges is sharp enough to give me a cut, especially the two screws at the end, which did scratch the surprise of the project I am working on while I was taking measurements. The round notch where the thumb goes, where more caliper has a wheel to make minor adjustments. That is a false impression because it is not a wheel, it is just a bump.

Great for metric, not so much with imperial. But in all fairness, if you need to measure less than 1/8 of an inch, you better get on with the program and use metric anyway. Can't beat the price. Comes with box. Measures inside, outside and depth. Your standard shop caliper.

I have attached an image. You can just take a peak at that and skip reading my review.First the imperial side does not work. It's on a division of 1/6 not 1/8, and it doesn't line up with anything with any lines with my test samples.The metric side is off by 0.05mm.The machining is terrible. The lower jaw got over machined and took a big bite out the metal.Many burr on surface.I know this is not a $100 caliper, but the problem of this caliper is not presentable. If I was at a store looking at this, I would have laugh it, put it down, and would NOT have bought it.What really disappointing is that my $2 plastic caliper does a better job than this one.

The instrument is well constructed and the metric scale is good. However, the vernier for the Imperial scale is incorrectly constructed/calibrated. The markings are supposed to be 1/128 inch. The main scale reads to 1/16 inch, so there should be eight (8) evenly spaced markings on the vernier; each marking would be one-eighth of 1/16 = 1/128 inch. Unfortunately there are only six (6) markings! So, each of these are one-sixth of 1/16 = 1/96 inch. Only the third mark (designated with the numeral 4) corresponds to a 1/128 graduation, but 1/16 * 4/128 = 1/32 inch. This is not the accuracy claimed in the product description!

Fine piece of gear. Scale is easy to read, locks into place well. This tool lives on a boat, in salt water, so the stainless steel is excellent.

I liked everything about it. It came with a good sturdy and padded case incase I dropped it. I used it for a lot of jobs doing carpentry and woodworking with no complaints.
