This magnet does not have much strength to pick up metal unless it is on a very smooth surface with little clearance. We need it for a gravel parking lot and blacktop road to pick up nails from roofing projects. The magnet is not strong enough when adjusted to clear the gravel. We tried this magnet due to the easy release feature. We went back to the old magnet and will continue to clean the magnet off by hand.
