This wheel is amazing for the price, it arrived clean with all the parts, it ran straight. I’ve used it for a couple months with no issues. Keep in mind a basic electric wheel normally runs around $1500, so you will have to learn to live with its quirks. It’s a little noisy, and it does slow down a bit when you press down hard to center your clay. I turn it up all the way when centering to help with this. It doesn’t feel like it has a full 3/4 horse motor, but works well enough for smaller pieces. You’ll have to drill holes for the little bolts that anchor the bats. The bolts don’t come with it, I ordered some separately.

Wheel arrived with plate crooked. When turned on the rubber belt fell off so the wheel would no longer spin. I put the belt back on but since the whole assembly was tilted it would not stay attached. Plastic parts and cheaply made, it’s unusable. You get what you pay for. I’ll be returning it and getting a better quality brand from a ceramic supplier.

My biggest complaint is that the motor is pretty loud. It works well enough, especially for the price. If you're dying for a wheel, this is a great one to start with. It's very sturdy (read: heavy!). It's too low to the ground for me (I'm 5'6"), so it needs to be up on blocks for me to throw comfortably. I also wish the wheel-head had a different texture - the metal feels funny to me. I wish it was smoother, I think? It sortof feels like a vinyl record. I can also tell that the wheel isn't as powerful as others I've thrown on - which just means that throwing larger pieces will be more difficult. But for smaller projects and beginner potters, it will be plenty sufficient.Again, great wheel for the price, I definitely think the value outweighs the downsides.

Purchased for my daughter who took pottery in HS. She said it's very easy to center the clay, and the speed is great. I purchased non skid mounts for under the pedal to keep it in place. I did a lot of research before purchasing, and a professional potter reviewed this wheel, which is why I made this choice. The next one up from this was close to $1,000.

I purchased this potters wheel a couple of months ago. When I first got the wheel it looked used. the wheel did came in a box that looked like it had been opened before and pieces of Styrofoam where shoved in to steady the wheel during shipping. When I took the wheel out there were definitely signs of use. The wheel was covered in clay dust and had smears of clay on the legs. I attempted to put the pan around the wheel and it would not fit. I sent an email to the seller and explained my concerns but I never got a response from them. After waiting 2 weeks and not getting any response, I decided to turn it on and make sure the wheel worked; which it did. I To make the pan fit, I used heavy tape to basically force it into position and this worked well. To this day, I have never gotten a response from the seller. The wheel is ok but I definitely would not purchase again from this seller for anything!

For the price this wheel is great. It’s a little slow at high speed but it’s manageable. It doesn’t have bat peg holes but they are easy enough to drill in. I would definitely recommend this to a hobbyist or beginner.
