Bought these (black, split toe, medium) for running rivers and general canoeing and water activities. I used them a few times on warm day short paddles, as with my light hybrid canoe you have to be in the water to get in the canoe. Was quite pleased at how comfortable they were and how well they fit, with no bumps at seams to irritate. The over-the-calf height is perfect and more comfortable than if standard crew sock height.I used them again in mid Sept on a five-day river trip along the Canadian border, where the benefits of these Therms Wetsox really became apparent.Trying them with two different types of water shoes (Keen water sandals and DOUSSPRT Men's Aqua Shoes), I was surprised at how comfortably warm they kept my feet on cold mornings, even when soaking wet. They don't feel soggy or cold. Didn't feel like they were slipping in my water shoes at all, either, and lent a sense of increased grip and cushion when pushing off rocks and climbing on root-laden shores, etc.Took a bit to dry at the end of the day, cool as it was, though after turning them inside out and flipping them a few times near the fire, they were ready to go for the next morning. Can't speak to how they are with wet suits, though for my purposes of running rivers, in and out of canoes all day, exploring side creeks and marshes on foot, being soaked up to our knees and clambering around rough shores, these Therms Wetsox have earned a permanent place with my canoe gear.

When I surf in cold water, even with 7mil booties my feet are still the first thing to get cold, so it's great that these add an extra 1mm of insulation. They still fit inside my booties as is without having to size up. But the greatest thing is how much easier it makes putting on my heavy, old 6/5/4 wetsuit. My feet slip right through putting the wetsuit on, and even better it comes off so much easier without getting stuck on my heels. I used to bust my knuckles on the pavement desperately trying to free myself, but not anymore! My booties also come off so much easier, which I'm sure is saving wear and tear on them as well. It's also nice to have something on my feet while getting changed, which helps keep me from freezing standing on pavement in my bare feet. They fit tight against my calves and don't bunch up or get annoying while surfing. I highly recommend these!

I’m a 47-year dive professional. WHY have I not using these since they were available? WOW! Damp wetsuit? No problem. Slides right on. Blisters or rub spots from your favorite dive booties? No more! Best of the best! I’m old enough and been diving long enough not to care what people think about my stylishness, or lack there of. The other DM’s made fun of me until they tried them. Now they own them too. Best thing since sliced bread... or the BCD... for pro divers AND recreational divers!!! Again... WOW!!!

I had a pair of the thinner version of these socks that I loved..and lost. I thought these were the same thing. They’re not. They’re thicker. But they work very well and kept my feet snug & warm in my boots on my dive. They’re also super good for getting your legs into your wetsuit. I would definitely recommend em’ for the latter & if you’re diving water between about 68 & 75F.

I'd give it a 3.75 star rating if I could. These definitely add a bit of warmth under booties, they are very comfortable, and they do help to get your wetsuit off with less struggling. However, while surfing i've already had a couple of experiences of my booty and leash sliding right off of the sock at my foot/ankle. This occured while bailing after a ride and larger waves pulling my board when I can't keep it with me (and no, I am not one to commonly just bail my board). I have twice found myself swimming to shore to retrieve my board only to find the velcro on my leash strap still wrapped (i.e it wasn't leash velcro failure as my booty was half off my foot too). And yes, this actually did happen twice. I like this product for the previously mentioned attributes and will probably continue to use it....but I know to beware on bigger days and be sure to go extra snug on leash and booty strap!

My open water ocean swims are so much better with these socks! They fit snugly and comfortably, and are long enough to stay safely tucked into my wetsuit legs. I’ve had them almost a year (and worn them on probably 30 open water swims) and they are holding up beautifully.

Got to use these for the first time last weekend in very chilly (48-51 degrees) water. Made putting on my wet, cold wetsuit on the second day of surfing MUCH easier. And removing my booties with my frozen hands was also much easier than it used to be. I didn't have any issues slipping around in my booties. I got the split-toe Wetsox, and I have split-toe booties as well, so that probably helped. I found the fit nice and snug. I have pretty normal (not wide or narrow) feet. I wear a size 10 shoe typically, and I got the medium size. I thought the fit was perfect.

I found the Wetsox to be easy to put on and take off. I followed the directions and wore them initially around my apartment for a couple times before taking them out into the field. The socks are marked L & R which is very helpful.
