I want to start with the one negative that I found while using these this hunting season. I discovered that you can have a light that is too bright for these to function as designed. My first morning out to the deer blind I used my bike headlight as my flashlight. It is pretty bright so it lit up the trees in addition to the tacks so the reflection didn't show up very well. However, when I went the next day and just used my headlamp, they worked wonderfully. Showed up super clear. I would think that the little keychain light that accompanied the tacks may be a little underpowered depending on how you space your tacks but these are a great option to mark a trail for the dark. I would also say that you would like to try to find softer woods to install these on since they can bend on harder woods. But, they are tacks so that isn't too surprising.

White ones. Tiny, unobtrusive, barely visible in the daytime. But light my path up like a Christmas tree or a runway when walking to my hunting spot before/after sunrise/sunset

These genuine HME trail racks lit my trail up like a highway. I posted them sides of my trail and dirt roads to make it easier to stay on the path when riding ATVs back in the dark. They seem to work the best with low to moderate light at eye level using a headlamp.

They are a lot easier to stick into a tree than regular reflective tacks. Very durable also
