This sieve has worked fantastic! Seems a bit fragile, but I wash it by hand to ensure longevity of it. Worth what you pay for :)

I attended a cooking class and the chef used this type of strainer. It was love at first sight. It has small holes that makes it ideal for rice. In my case I also make for mash potatoes. I bake the potatoes conserving the full taste and them use this strainer to mash it. The results are creamy mash potatoes! I also use it to make gnocchi. Very versatile.

I returned the 12" and bought the 10" (for some reason, the 10" was much more expensive!) because the 12" was too big for my bowls. I do love the tamis; can make restaurant quality smooth mashed potatoes and I also used it to strain my turkey stock. Just soak it in soapy water a while and it's very easy to clean.

This screen is 12" diameter and quality stainless screen that could be a bit tighter in frame. One stainless wire was poking out at the edge which I snipped off best I could otherwise it could poke your finger. Happy with purchase overall as it's priced right compared to other 12" sieves at $100.
