Used in dehydrated beef. Without the packets I was getting mold growth. No issues during use.

I bought these because they were less than 1/7 the unit price that I have paid for an identical item from a large domestic industrial supplier. They seem to be identical to the item I paid much more for, and, they're in a plastic zip lock bag instead of non-resealable aluminum bag. I have no way to test absorbency, so I did not rate it, but they claim to use the same amount per bag of the same material.

I put them in cereal and chips bags before closing them, and they keep them fresh!They also keep opened packages of expensive macadamia and cashews fresh too. I also put them in pet kibble, lol.I reuse them too! I keep using the same one until it gets puffy. After the food is used and the pack is still good, I'll put the pack in air tight container to reuse. One can last maybe a month, but I live in arid Southern California, so maybe a humid environment will use them up faster?

The picture is different from the product...the actual product looks cheap and comes in flimsy packaging...also does not look good safe...never saw such a cheap looking product being called food safe..
