Let me first note that this bag is not intended to keep your bread fresh for weeks. What it does do, is keep the outside crust fresh and crispy, while keeping the interior soft. It’s not going to retard spoilage for a long time, although it does help guard against humidity and mold growth for a limited time. I’ve tried brown paper bags and beeswax wrap; the bags series out the bread too quickly, and the beeswax wraps didn’t keep the crust crispy. I do put a small piece of foil/plastic wrap over the cut end to keep it from drying out too much. This bag worked exactly as I had hoped for both my homemade loaf and a bakery artisan loaf.

I love the look and feel of these bags. First, you get 6 bags that each hold a dutch oven sized loaf for under $20 with room left over. These bags are meant to keep your bread dry- it does NOT keep it from the air. I keep it inside my bread box. Since fresh bread is made without preservatives and should be eaten in 3 or 4 days, the bags keeps the crust crusty and the crumbs stay in the bag and not in the bread box. Do not buy if you are looking to prolong the natural life of your homemade bread.

I typically make bread in a Dutch oven and the loaf turns out fairly large! These were great to have on hand to use for storage I would highly suggest leaving parchment around the loaf so that it doesn’t get stale as easily!

These were well made but don’t work.Unfortunately, they are not treated with anything to make them air tight! Exposing the bread to air resulting in dry stale bread. Might work for a crust French bread that is supposed to be hard and dry. Not suitable for bread from a bread maker. We returned them and received the refund. It is suggested this is better than plastic bags that supposedly make the bread sweat. We have found that only happens if you don’t let the bread cool completely before putting it in the plastic bag. Or storing the bread in too cold or too warm of a location.Great idea and nice looking but a failure for storing bread.

These bread bags are super cute! However, they do not keep the bread fresh on their own. I had to wrap my bread in foil stills they do open and close super easy. The material is of great quality! and machine washable. Just wish they kept the bread from going stale on their own.

I use them to store my leather and lighter colored shoes when in the closet. Prevents scuffs and dirt from getting all over other shoes.
