First or all, these sun visors look and work exactly as described. I chose these "Wolf" styles because they have the elastic going all the way around the dome of the hardhat to secure the visor, unlike several other visors that just have two velcro/hook-and-loop straps securing the visor to the hard hat. I was working in 25-35mph wind conditions and the hardhat was blown off my head a couple of times, but the visor stayed securely attached to the hardhat the whole time. Also, unlike my seven year old "Chill-Its" style, the "Wolf" style folds up to a nice compact size for storage so you don't have to find room for a giant fabric-covered frisbee in your equipment bin. Also, this "Wolf" style has a longer (top to bottom) shade than some other visor styles, providing more coverage for your neck even when bent over. The current "Chill-Its" styles for sale on Amazon say their shade is almost 10 inches long top to bottom, but my seven year old style only has a 7.5 inch shade, which is inadequate unless you are standing straight up the whole time. So, as to the one small downside which is obvious and not hidden at all in the product photos: As you can see, the visor sits completely flat on the hardhat. So depending on the latitude and time of year when you are working outside, this "Wolf" style visor provides only minimal protection against the low winter sun. I wish the "Wolf" style visor sloped down at the sides. Of course, because the design of the "Wolf" style is based on the foldable/bendable/collapsible wire running around the edge of the brim this wouldn't work well. My old "Chill-Its" style visor slopes down at the sides a little and the current "Chill-Its" style for sale on Amazon appears to slope down at the sides also, but I find that the "Chill-Its" style visors don't fit very well. The elastic around the dome is secure, but the hardhat always wants to pop out from the bottom of the visor. Also, because the sides of the "Chill-Its" visor slope down, the front and back kind-of curve up, meaning the shade on your neck is pulled up slightly, giving you less protection from the sun. You could potentially attach the "Wolf" visor to an empty hardhat, bend the sides of the visor down and secure them so they stayed that way and maybe after a sufficient amount of time (a week or two maybe) they would stay sloped down even after you released whatever was securing them, but then you probably wouldn't be able to fold/collapse the "Wolf" visor down as its designed for convenient storage. Also, I'm not sure why Amazon asked me to rate the "Thickness" of the product. I declined to rate it in this category. I think its thick enough to block the sun in one sense, but in another sense, its just a thin fabric product. So to sum up: This "Wolf" style hardhat visor attaches very, very securely and won't come off. It also folds up to a nice, small, conveniently-stored size. The wide brim and wide and long shade of the visor provide great protection from the sun when its directly behind you or overhead, even if you bend over. However, because the visor sits completely flat on the hardhat, and its sides do not slope down at all, it provides less protection from low winter sun or whenever the sun is low on the horizon. Bottom line: its definitely worth it if you are going to be wearing a hardhat outside in sunny conditions.

I work outside all year in the woods and open plains. The sun has been rough and this has been a huge life saver this summer. Ive had a few of the velcro ones before but the velcro always breaks after a few months. These have held up great and i can wear them on my cut helmet too, which you cant do with the velcro ones. The visor is a good size and the cloth on the back breathes well and covers my whole neck. Its durable too, it has held up to blackberry brambles and tree branches poking and ripping at it. If this one ever breaks im going to get another one of these.

My husband and I have been working out in the sun all year on jobs and in some intense heat. These have saved us on many occasions when we needed to be in some shade. They can be cumbersome to get used to if you are in tight spaces and need to stick your head into tight quarters, they can get caught. But overall I would recommend highly , keeps most of the sun off your neck for sure and face.

The brim is even bigger than it appears in photos, but that is a good thing when you need to work outside and you don’t want to risk skin damage or worse on your face. Could be awkward in tight spaces though.
