stove fan

fan blades

High-quality Blades

High-quality streamlined blades, distributes heat evenly. Recommended surface temperature is between 158°F - 644°F (70°C - 340°C). If the fan doesn't run in time after reaching the temperature, please move the blade slightly (do not touch it directly with your hands).

Overheating Protection

Overheating Protection

The wood burning stove fan has an inbuilt bimetallic safety device at the base. This bimetallic safety device gently lifts the front of the fan once the temperature crosses 644°F/340°C in order to protect the motor and electricity generating unit

Suitable for Mr. Buddy Heater

The Xmasneed stave fan can also be used in the Mr. Buddy Heater through the cut-out design and gasket.

Protection Backplane

Fan-shaped breathable design on the back to protect the motor and improve the speed of heat dissipation. The key thing to note when placing your fan is that it needs space behind it. Try putting it on both sides of the stove (allowing about 15cm of space behind the fan), so that the fan pushes the warm air out into the room.

Ok. Does it move a ton of air? No not really. But the cool factor is over the top. I like heat sinks both man made and organic. This made a very interesting addition. Get the stove up around 500° and she really does get to spinnin and does move some air. Think I’m going to get a couple more and start my own tiny wind farm on a wood stove.

This is a good solution for improving the heat distribution of heaters like the Mr. Heater Portable Buddy. Propane-fueled radiant heaters tend to lose a fair amount of heat to convection that just drifts upwards (indoors) or gets blown away by the wind (outdoors), which makes them kind of inefficient. This fan allows that otherwise lost heat to conduct through the aluminum extrusion, which creates a temperature gradient that powers the fan, which draws the heat across the extrusion towards you - or at least into the room in such a way that it distributes much more evenly, rather than drifting upwards towards the ceiling above your head, where it doesn't do much good.Search YouTube for some examples of people attaching these stove fans to Mr. Heater Buddy models. It's easy to do with a bit of wire, twist ties, plastic ties, or something like that. It makes a noticeable difference to the amount of useful heat you get out a given amount of propane. Since this fan only has one moving part, it should basically last forever, and it should pay for itself eventually in saved gas while it keeps you more comfortable all the while.Only minor glitch was that the "motor" shaft was very slightly bent on one of the two I bought. It didn't seem to affect functionality at all - the blades still spun freely - but I didn't want it to create any noise or uneven wear over time, so I used pliers to coax it back into alignment. It was a 15-second fix and seems good as new. It's packaged very well but is perhaps a little overly snug, which might have just torqued the fan blades a bit when it was inserted at the factory.

It moves air just fine. I have noticed how the heat does get distributed more evenly now with this fan moving the heat around. These products have always seemed pricey for what they do, yet it not only does not require electricity, but it also shuts itself off as the temperature drops (unlike the box fan I use to use, but now I don't wake up in the morning with a fan blowing cold air around). I am glad I have this heat powered fan now. If you hold a lit match / flame up in the area of the fan, you can definitely see how the fan IS moving enough air to blow out the flame when it gets around to the front of the fan. I agree with some other reviewers that it is difficult to "feel" the air moving - but I think this is because you're feeling the heat rise up directly from the top of the stove and it does not feel like the fan is BLOWING (but it is). I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars because of the auto protection device on the bottom of my fan unit does not lift the base of the unit up when it is sitting on an over temp stove top. The supplied magnetic thermometer showed that the stove was up over the 650-degree F upper safe operating limit, and I did not notice any "movement" or lifting of the front of the base of the fan from the stove top. Even as I lifted the fan unit off the hot stove top to allow it to cool off, I could see that the piece of metal that is designed to lift the base of the fan up and away from the stove top was still flat against the base of the fan. My stove typically runs too hot for this fan, so I set an old camp cooking pan upside down on the stove and then set the fan on top of the pan, so the fan does not get ALL the heat and damage the thermal sensor or the electrical wiring. The fan will start up and works great, even when it is sitting on top of a pan. Overall - I like it, I like it a lot.

This little fan at first seemed great. I already have an ecofan that I just wanted a second to have one pushing heat one way and one pushing the other. It turned on faster than the ecofan and seemed to push alot of heat for a little fan. Was thrilled because the price was great...Give it about 15 more minutes to get to full speed, and it started vibrating which I could hear. 10 more minutes pass and I realize it is facing the complete opposite direction from how I had positioned it, and was approaching the edge of my stove. I obviously removed the fan from the stove and moved it to a cool location, upon inspection one blade was severely bent.Gave them the benefit of the doubt, and returned for another fan assuming I was just unlucky and got a defective one.The second one arrives and first thing I do is check the blades, all appeared to be the same distance from the base. No bent blades. Once again set it on my stove and it fires up quick and I can feel it moving heat well. 30 minutes later I look over and it's on the edge of my stove, and facing the wrong direction again. So I start to investigate and it appeared the pin in the center that the blades spin on was bent.If I would have left this overnight it likely would have fallen off of the stove and potentially caught my house on fire.So long story short has potential to be a great buy, but as far as my experience has shown me, this product is not safe and once adjustments are made this could be a great product.

Takes awhile to heat up (5-10 mins depending on heat temp), but when it does the fan goes like crazy. Extremely useful for dispersing heat horizontally and efficiently. No electricity required, no battery required!

The fan runs and can get really, really fast. Despite this, the actual air it moves is not that much. I have no idea why.Truly, this thing will be wizzing around, but pushing the barest of gentle breezes.Anyways, the temp regulator thing does work. It lifts the front of the unit just enough to prevent it from overheating if you set it right on the top middle of a ripping hot stove. The thermostat works as expected.Fair value for money I think. Kind of a decorative novelty with a little bit of air circulation.

Totally silent. Compact and neat. I have a pair, one either side of the flue; they make a significance to hot air circulation in the room.
