I have always loved Teak wood. It is just a beautiful wood, and looks perfect when used to make just about anything, especially these wooden utensils. When I saw this Teak wooden strainer spoon, I knew that it would be incredible for cooking. It would be great for pots that have liquid in them so that the holes in the Teak spoon would move smoothly through the liquid. And there won’t be any scratches in the pans since this is made from Teak wood. As much as I would love to use this for cooking, I want it even more for my shelf where I keep my special cooking, and kitchen artwork on. I can show it off this way.With the soft Modern design that we have in our home, hanging this spoon just above the shelf will look really nice in our kitchen. I also like the idea of keeping the spoon where it is, above on a shelf, because the hand-drilled holes look so awesome. I can even keep this strainer spoon in a utensil holder, and try not to use it, just so it always looks fresh and nice.The price is a bit on the high side, for just one piece. I know that the value goes up when a piece is handmade, and I’m sure that this took some time to do. There are a ton of holes, and a lot of Teak wood in this long-handled strainer spoon. I’m sure that the price is where it is because of the price of special wood, and the time to create all of the holes.

First of all, this is handmade, so it's not perfect. The one I got was uneven, slightly thinner on one side of the bowl of the spoon with almost a sharp edge at that point.I got this not to use so much in cooking, but in prepping. I'm always having to strain the content of a can and I thought this would work well. It does. I hold it over the top of the can and flip and drain. I am a little disappointed because the bowl of the spoon is a bit smaller than I thought it would be. Based on the pics, I thought it would be bigger, but it just fits over the top of a can with a bit of rim to spare. If it were slightly bigger, it would stay on top of the can better. Also, I got the long handle and the short handle would have worked better for how I wanted to use it, but that's on me, not the company.Basically, this is a decent strainer spoon which will see multiple uses in my kitchen. Not sure it's worth the price they're asking, but it is teak and handmade, so it's up to you how much that's worth.

I ordered both this slotted spoon and a spatula set from Bkiok. My thoughts on this spoon are similar to my thoughts on the spatual set. I feel like the advertising on these "Natural" Teak Wooden Strainer Spoon is slightly misleading. Yes, wood is natural but these are not unfinished, in the raw wood state. If you look at the wooden hole at the end of the handle you can see unfinished light colored wood as well as a little bit of the staining color that seeped into the hole. Does staining make these bad utensils? Not necessarily - I have wooden utensils that appeared to have been stained from another company that I have used for years. But why not disclose the information on what was used to stain these utensils instead of omitting those details while giving other details such as "Handmade with a Smooth Finish" and "polished surface" that can mislead the consumer to think these are in a totally natural wood state with no stain/finish. I am undecided about these as far as healthy staining methods since the details are not given. The spoon looks nice, feels firm and sturdy, and the long handle is comfortable but I do feel like the advertising is misleading and the country of origin was not disclosed in the listing. A sticker on the box it comes in says, Made in China. I would not order again -- not because I do not like this spoon but because I prefer upfront, transparent product information.

We ordered this to be a frequently used strainer cooking spoon for our kitchen. The teak wood is beautiful, and it is well made and finished. We like that we can safely use it in any of our cookware. Being teak should make it stand up well to hot liquids as well as hand washing in the sink. and the smooth shape should make it easy to maintain the finish. Since it is made from teak, we also expect it to be durable. We are very pleased with it.

This is a teak handheld strainer. The handle feels good in my hand. The wood is smooth. Reading the care card, it says to hand wash only and to use mineral oil to keep the wood conditioned. I’m in the process of eliminating plastic from my kitchen. This is a great place to start.
