We decided to stop buying frozen fries because of all the additives in them and made the switch to homemade. This tool lets us pick the fries out of the hot oil without loosing fries and making a mess on the counter. It is made of high grade stainless steel and cleans up very easily. The handle is sturdy and I expect it to last many years.

We like the large basket of this skimmer. It allows us to pull a decent amount of "stuff" (French fries, breaded okra, etc.) from our fryer. We like the long handle since it allows us to "dig deep" into the fryer.
