This unit was easy to install and works great. I like that you can set it for 1 hr. and up to 8 hrs to illuminate my sconce lights.

Product works as it should. Easy to install. It was the least expressive out of all and works probably as well as the most expensive. How many more ways can a person make a switch such as this. With the money and works well.

You must have basic electrical knowledge to install this item. It works great and saved me lots of money. I have been using it for a few months now. I only wish the power button was a little bigger.

Our roof cables were not working well to prevent ice dams; I thought it was because the old-fashioned mechanical timer-switch only allowed a 30-minute run time*, and I bought this as a replacement. It does exactly what it says it does --- allows me with the touch of a button to turn on the cables for a one-hour, two-hour, four-hour or eight-hour run. It's crowded in a standard junction box, but easily installed in a deep one. Wiring is easy, but access to the white ("cold") wire is needed -- so it may have to be created if the box has the white wire as an un-tapped run-through. As others have noted, the face relief is shallow, so spacers under the mounting screws may be needed to make a faceplate seat properly. There was no faceplate provided (they cost a couple bucks and are readily available); wire nuts were provided, but were too small if more than two wires were being joined. It comes in a few different time-ranges, so it's pretty versatile; it works quite nicely once installed. It's both nicer and less expensive than the ones I found in big-box home/hardware stores. If it proves durable, I'll be very, very pleased with it; I've already bought another.(*it turned out that it was also incorrectly installed)

My old Attic Fan timer failed, so ordered the Woods timer and I installed the timer. It was easy to install and works great. The timing mechanism is spot on. I highly recommend this Wall timer .

I made mine into a portable timer, in a double plastic electrical box. I used an IEC 320 connector so I could have a removable power cord. I have used it so far to turn off outside portable lights and inside table fans. I am surprised Woods did not use binary, and have this be a 15 hour timer. 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 etc instead of 1-2-4-8. Same indicators could be used, just add the hours in your head, 1 + 2 = 3, 8+4+2+1 = 15. Will have to wait to comment on reliability. Reliability Update Nov 3,2012 - My timer failed about 3 months after I purchased. The failure was that the red light would come on, but pressing the button did nothing. I contacted the manufacturer, Coleman Cable [...]and obtained a replacement. The unit does have a 1 year warranty. They did request a dated invoice (easy to do on Amazon.com) and I received my replacement. I did troubleshoot the failed timer, and found it was the push button itself. I found the exact button on a popular auction site and purchased 5 of the buttons for $1.50 including shipping. Had to wait about 3 weeks for arrival of the parts, but I now have 2 working timers, and some spare buttons in case they fail again. Even with the failed first unit, I think this is a great timer, and hopefully the replacement will have long life.

Easy to install (if you know what you are doing)

Works ok, but really wish there was an ON position, as I often need the fan to stay on all night. Our main Timer use is when we're in between seasons... The Texas fall days can still be pretty warm when going to bed, only to get pretty cold in the middle of the night. So we keep the fan on while falling asleep so that the room is not so hot, then as the night gets colder the fans switch off, so you don't wake up cold in the middle of the night. But for the summer nights we need the fan ON all night. So you turn it on for the full 8 hours at the kid's bed time... but that ends up short from the full night... so I would go around later on re-setting them for another 8 hours. Problem is that the button is VERY loud. So I would end up waking up the kids. Not good. For one of the bedrooms I ordered this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001RJ8X0M/ref=pe_1098610_137716200_cm_rv_eml_rv0_dpMore expensive, but well worth the extra cost.

Worked great. I installed this on a boot dryer I built. Exactly what I was looking for give me a wide range of times I can dry my boots for knowing it will shut off on its own.

Time the block heater or old style battery charger (smart ones don't like -30C) so you don't forget to shut it down when the plans change. Simple to install as long as you don't try to make it perfectly square (too wide for clearing the box retaining screws); but it uses real contacts relay, so it works with motors (fans, pumps etc.) as well.

Had to replace my old one that after many years failed by counting down in seconds and not minutes. It was a perfect fit and identical replacement. Price was almost half of the price compared to the local hardware store for the same product.
