If you're using this to string your horn, it can take a lot of continual stringing and restringing. I was very pleased. It's very expensive compared to buying the thinner bulk fishing line that you can buy (research which is the proper thickness and material content before you ever buy those things) but it should last a long time. Very happy with its elasticity, but it is a bit thick. Depending on your horn's hardware, you may have to really really tug on the string to fit it around and around the posts, screws, etc. Also: best trick is to cut about 6" or more of the string with a very sharp razor blade or sharp scissors, then dip the ends on both sides in a very minute speck of Elmer's school glue. Let dry and put your extra strings in a small Ziploc baggie for quick restringing. It makes a great backup prep kit.Good luck!

Works well. Pretty easy to use - of course assuming you know how to tension this for proper valve function. Used this for the 3rd valve I have fixed using the setup of other valves as an example. It has it's challenges, but is OK if you are patient. I found it best to start with a piece longer than necessary, then trim it after everything was tied.

You can't go wrong with Yamaha horn string and this is my go to string for my Elkhart Conn 8D. If you aren't familiar with various horn brands, you should note that this string is thick (1mm) and you will NOT be able to use on all horns. Some require a thinner (0.7mm) string in order to fit through the holes drilled in the valve levers.

This is a very heavy duty string that looks like it will last for a long time -- so it is of good quality. However, it is also very thick. I have an OLDS double French Horn from the 70's and for the life of me could not figure out how to get that string through the holes, no matter what I did. I ended up making the string holes just a TINY bit larger by drilling them out with 1/16" bit and that shaved just enough off on the diameter of the hole to do the trick! Perhaps the newer horns will not have this problem.

Works great, my daughter is hard on her trigger and this has been the best string so far.

Who knew that different manufacturers have different hole sizes for stringing cord? This is slightly larger in diameter than the horn I was trying to fix. I ultimately took it to my local repair shop and their expert restrung a weird (to me) thumb valve.

Quality seems OK. Unfortunately, too thick for my Schmid horn.

This is much stronger than another horn string I got on the internet. Good quality and does what it needs to do.
