I am very impressed with this ball winder.The craftsmanship is high quality and the wood is beautiful and smooth. I highly recommend this. this was the first time I had ever used a ball winder. No problems at all. I love it! Shipping was fast and well packaged ! got the bundle that came with the yarn winder, yarn bowl, and a couple other things I don't know what they're for. Each item is beautiful and crafted well. this winder is exceptional. It's sturdy, doesn't move at all while winding, and is so incredibly smooth to turn. Plus it accommodated large hanks of yarn It also came with an extra beltThe instructions aren't as clear as they could be, but setup was fast and easy. Overall, very satisfied, and wish I'd found this set even sooner.

What a nice piece of workman ship and the wood is beautiful. It is easy to put together. The instructions are visual - ignore the words as some don't make grammatical sense :) The first skein we wound was a cashmere sock yarn (Fine -1) and it worked perfectly! I highly recommend this product. This is a once in a life time purchase of a quality product. The extra belt, yarn bowl, crochet, needles and sample winders are a true bonus to the swift itself.

I received this yarn winder as a Christmas gift this year and my first impression was that it is gorgeous. It’s a lustrous rosewood (the photos don’t do it justice) and it’s very well made. The manufacturer includes thorough, large print instructions for use with color and B&W illustrations to help you get the set up right. They also included machine oil and an extra band for future needs and contact info for any questions. Everything works together so smoothly making it a pleasure to work with. Highly recommended this for anyone who winds their own yarn. Excellent gift for your fiber arts crafter.

I bought this several months ago and just took it out of the box and assembled it. I must say, the assembly instructions left something to be desired, but it was fairly easy to put together, even for someone who has never used a swift or ball winder. The workmanship is exceptional, and the parts move together assmooth as butter! I just balled a large hank of yarn ( too much wool for one of those plastic ball winders) and there wasn't a moment of frustration! There are some mystery parts: 2 identical parts that might leave you scratching your head until you realize they are clamps to attach the swift and winder to a table if needed. I am thrilled with this addition to my new obsession. The wooden crochet hooks are beautiful (can't wait to try them) and the picks will come in handy, as well as the wooden pieces that I believe are meant to wrap leftover yarn on. I would highly recommend this set to anyone who doesn't want a hassle when winding yarn. P.S., the umbrella swift is installed so that the small wooden wedges at the tip of each arm are on the bottom- if you pull them out, they will keep your hank from falling off. Enjoy!

Truly this winder and swift exceeded my expectations. The winding process is smooth and relaxing. It’s important to start slowly and settle on a speed that is good for the yarn. The swift is sturdy and durable-best I’ve owned. I also just loved that it came with a yarn bowl and gorgeous carved crochet hooks.

I already had a nice yarn winder, but now needed a "Swift." I purchased this set primarily for the Swift, and was hoping that the winder would have a larger capacity than my current winder. Not only is this beautiful, but an absolute dream to use. Very easy to setup and when using the winder, my arm was NEVER fatigued like is would become while using my first winder. I placed a length of paper towel core onto the winder post so I can create a spool, as I use a spindle when crocheting (I wind ALL my yarn BEFORE using it as I don't want to have to deal with collapsing center pull skeins/let alone those one pounder skeins. My old winder can hold just under 400 yards of medium 4+weight, this winder can obviously hold a lot more, I have 375 yards of medium weight on the pictured spool I wound with this beautiful winder. It can DEFINITELY wind a couple hundred more feet if I needed, I am betting it can take a 744yd skein of Red Heart's Super Saver Jumbo skein. This is worth every penny.

The instructions for assembly is easy to follow and everything fits together without any issues. It comes with clamps to stabilize the winder! I'm absolutely enamored by the quality of this piece and it's beautiful wood. It comes with some machine oil but everything works speedily and smooth right out of the box. It's solid wood and it's durable and heavy. I will be taking very good care of this and have this for years and years and that makes me very happy!

Ordering this set as I’m new to weaving and spinning but wanted something that would last. The wood has a nice weight to it and it’s solid, so no creeping around the table. Comes with an extra belt for the spinner which is a considerate addition. The wood is smooth with a slight shine to it. Assembled in a minute using the pictures. This is made and shipped from India so the written instructions were ~interesting ~. No weird smells to it. Didn’t give it 5 Stars due to shipping concerns but it arrived late without dents.

This is an amazing, the winder and the swift is expertly crafted, plus the extra bowl coming in handy when needed. The needles and crochet hooks are fantastic looking (havent used yet but can't see me having any issues). The winder is the show of the product though it is fantastic, plus it says 10 oz but im almost 100% sure it can take a lot more. Also the price point is pretty fantastic too.

I needed a new swift and winder, and this fit the bill. Good price for the two and made of good quality wood. Best of all, they work as table top so you don't necessarily need to use the clamps although having them is great. I've wound up a few skeins now and it's quiet, smooth and works way better than my Knit Picks models did. Seller includes an extra rubber for the winder as well which is nice. Highly recommend.
