Your cart is empty.This core box bit features a rounded tip with a 1/2" radius and a 1" cutting diameter. The cutting depth is 3/4" and the shank is 1/4". Core box bits have rounded tips that are perfect for routing channels in cutting boards and producing flutes in columns using solid wood or MDF. Our core box bits are available in various diameters, with a choice of 1/4" and 1/2" shanks. The smaller shank diameter works well in laminate trimmers, while the 1/2" shanks are ideal for deep cuts with full-size routers.

This router bit works well. I usually buy Bosch or Whiteside and they are probably 2 1/2 times the price.of this.. Tungsten carbide has been around a long time now,so no need for it to be so expensive. They’re not a super high tech item , even cheap ones have a nice ground arbor and are concentric. I also buy the sets of straight bits in HD, I use them installing locks a hinges mostly. They’re Ryobi make and very reasonably priced. The set is probably the same price as a half inch Bosch and they work well Renovating old doors or windows can ruin a bit if you hit a nail unexpectedly. Cheaper bits help to take the sting out.Got this to finish off some outside bullnose corners for baseboards when using bullnose corner bead on Sheetrock

This isn’t the sharpest or best tooled router bit you’ll find but it did get the job done eventually. In the end I needed about 15-20 passes to make the pictured cut taking less than a 16th each time… any more and I got tear out and bogging down, which I don’t with my more expensive large bits.

I had to cut 3/4" deep grooves/channels in walnut. I got the 1" diameter bit. I would still rather buy a Whiteside bit but this bit was less than half the price. It did its job perfectly. I made about 20-6" long cuts to a depth of 3/4". I did about three passes to reach that depth. The last cut was as good as the first one. I am not sure how long this bit will last but so far it is fine. I have a Craftsman router I used with a plunge base. I would say the router is similar to the Skil router available now.

1" diameter core box router bit. Husband says they are exceptionally well manufactured and work very well.  Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. Surprised for it to dull pretty quickly with it being used on hardwood. Lots of burn marks on a second use. Probably using it wrong but haven’t had issues like with my Diablo router bits.
