Probably good enough if you only need +-1mA or so, but it's not all that precise. The direction of current is not marked, so you'll need to check if you get it wrong the first time.

I knew that I would need to replace my neglected water heater Anode rod and wanted to upgrade to a powered Anode rod. As this powered rod does not really need monitoring, being the handy designer that I am, I wanted to build a monitor "box" that would display the applied voltage and the electrical current that is used during operation. I selected a meter for both the voltage and current where the anticipated values measured would be in the middle to upper third of the meters range. For these analog meters, the best accuracy is obtained in this middle to upper third range and this meter filled the bill.... I whipped out my Dremel tool and fabricated a project box to house the two meters needed.... The picture shows the nominal operating conditions of the powered Anode rod and again, while it was not needed, it gave me an excuse to build something and keep me busy :-)

I installed this on all 3 of my lasers. They all work perfectly. It was easy to install. I designed a mount on tinkercad and went from there.

I had the 50ma version but wanted to swap to the 30ma version for better resolution. My 100w RECI CO2 laser tube is rated for 28ma max.

Overview: I bought two meters, 50uA and 30mA. Each meter was as described in the product information. All of the expected hardware was present. The dimensions were accurately described. The project housing depth needs to be ~2" or more. As a qualitative or semi-quantative device, the meters acuracy exceeds expectation.Damage: The 50uA gauge was received damaged. The side of the plastic cover (bezzle) was broken (photo). This was not the fault of the vendor. Given the product was shipped in a soft envelop and the container box was partially crushed, it appears that the damage occurred during transport.Testing/Accuracy:****50uA*****The 50uA meter had accuracy that exceeded expectation. Measures were spot on in the middle of the range, but ~1uA high at the low scale and ~1uA low at the high part of the range (see graph).****30mA**** This meter did not live up to the rated accuracy. Current was consistently low (by 40-60%), relative to theory (photo), as well as, the values measured w/ my MM.
