I've been using the closed faced version for a week now. This perfect for putting in a backpack and hiking out to fishing spots. I've caught several lager bass on this rod without issue. The cast is extremely smooth however the reeling in portion takes some getting used to just because of ergonomics of the handle being a lot different if you are used to spinning reels. I highly recommend this product.

I love this fishing pole telescopic so I can put it in back compartment on my four wheeler. Take it to the pond with me. Ot casts great reels in smooth comes with some excellent line on it but my only complaint is I don’t have two of them.

I wanted a cheap light combo to travel with and this is perfect, can cast super far with very little weight, definetly recommend as a travel rod or just a beginner rod.

I bought this right before Christmas, but then decided to wait to give to to my son for his birthday. Unfortunately, the top piece of the rod was broken when he opened it and it is now past the return window. Unfortunate circumstance. Hopefully we can use the reel elsewhere without issue, but the rod obviously didn't meet expectations.

Looks good, it's strong and lightweight, won't break easily. I used it for coarse fishing, the reel is very good too.

Excellent rod and reel, caught several species and sizes of fish on this guy. Pike, Walleye,bass, and Zebco always seems to be a great product! Buy it, I bought two!

i read a review that it would break after a decent fish. i chose to ignore it and i had the rod break on the first decent fish (~1 pound pike). do not buy this rod unless its for tiny fish. actually just dont buy this.
