Stainless steel wool usually comes in very coarse grades. Yes those will remove a lot of tough stains and crud from metals like an aluminum pot or pan but the finish you are left with is better but not the finer look oyu really need. Just like sanding wood, you start with the coarse rough stuff and finish with the fine stuff to get the smooth and polished surface you want. This is the stuff that can do it. Regular steel wool is cheap and effective but rusts after getting wet and you will get this wet. I want to have this on the shelf to go again and again when I need it. Is this a compulsive and obsessive behavior to want your things to be really clean and a pleasure to have? I don't think so. Stainless steel wool.. who knew?

It's stainless steel wool. Knit into a sweater, it itches and is not waterproof BUT, it doesn't rust. Great if you work around magnets. My other sweater was all rusty and when I walked by a electro magnet I lost it, ripped it right off me. So buy stainless. Makes nice camp socks too, mice won't bite your feet, they don't like steel wool and your toenails always shine. Hope this review helped fellow knitters.

12 hours after first contact with water is rusted brown and started falling apart. Deceptive advertising. DO NOT BUY.

Product did exactly what I needed it to do. A problem with birds damaging a new Maple tree going after the sweet sap. ‘Googling’ suggested covering the area with steel wool. Wrapped the trunk with two lengths of the product and no more bird problems.

I just had my table and chairs refinished and the wood had some places that weren't smooth. This steel wool worked perfectly! Easy swipes made the finish perfect. I've heard it can get rid of water spots on glass without scratching. Trying that next!

This is good 0000 Steel Wool. But if it gets wet it turns orange, rusts, and falls apart leaving rusty particles everywhere. This works good like normal steel wool. But I bought it because I need Stainless Steel Wool for cleaning glass without leaving rust particles behind to rust vehicles.

I use steel wool for window cleaning. I got it wet and it started to rust in my sink within an hour. Not stainless steel. Work's fine but not reusable.

The regular stuff, you have to be careful using it for dust and particles, wear a mask, this stuff will create fine dust whether metallic or wood.

This is advertised as stainless steel but definitely has steel in it as it left a large rusted stain using it outdoors .
