I purchased this handpan with low expectations. Having played music for over 40 years, my ears are quite trained, and I anticipated being disappointed. I initially bought it to see if I would actually use it, with plans to return it and spend over $3,000 on a higher-quality instrument if needed. To my surprise, I checked the pitch with a professional piano tuner and found all the notes to be spot on. The quality is very good; in fact, I couldn't find any flaws, such as scratches. The harmonics of this handpan are impressive. While the $3,000+ handpans may have better-organized harmonics, this instrument performs well. I watched several YouTube videos comparing this handpan to those that cost thousands of dollars. With my eyes closed, the sound was surprisingly close, and the difference was not significant enough to justify spending 25 times more. There are small hammer marks on the instrument's surface, similar to those found on expensive handpans. This suggests that each piece was not just mass-produced but carefully reviewed and fine-tuned, much like the pricier options. The case that comes with it is of high quality, and I highly recommend this handpan. I’ve decided to keep it and not pursue a more expensive instrument. While I can afford it, I don't see the point in spending extra. If you purchase this handpan, you definitely won't be disappointed.

I wanted to try the handpan for a long time, but didn't want to pay $2000 for something that wouldn't ship for months. I was excited to see this instruments finally available on Amazon. I was hesitant because they are so much cheaper than other models, but decided that with the return policy, I had nothing to lose.I'm so glad I purchased one! It came with a great little stand, a polishing cloth, some mallets (if you want to play LOUD), and a pretty decent padded case. It was packaged well, looks great and sounds great. I'm impressed. I'm also glad that I got the one with 10 notes (9 plus the middle ding). It just gives you more versatility for not a lot more money. A few YouTube videos later, and I'm making music.Cons? Not really. The highest two notes have to be hit just right for them to ring out, but it's very possible this is my technique and not a quality issue. For this price point, I have no complaints. If you've been wanting to try handpan, I don't think you can go wrong with this one. Whichever one you choose to buy, make sure there is a return policy just in case you don't like it or it sounds out of tune. Other than that, I say go for it!

My daughter was over the moon excited and has been enjoying since Christmas her musical gift. Nice sound, well made and comes with a great well made bag to take for transport too. Definitely worth the money in my opinion!

I got it for my husband as a birthday gift. He has been playing drums for 30 years +. He loves the sound—great sound and quality for the price. Very easy to play. Even I made it make pretty noises and I have no idea what I am doing.

I opened the box excitedly, appreciating the small stand and the nice bag for the handpan itself. I pulled it out, gently nestled it on my lap, caressed it gently, and began to play. Briefly. By the third note I was recoiling from how it sounded. I pull out my trusty tuner app on my phone, and not a single note is in tune. Several were so far out of tune they registered as the wrong note.I returned it within the hour. Not recommended at all.

I suppose it is good depending on what you are looking for. After lots and lots of research on handpans between handmade and mass produced - there's a huge difference. It came well packaged and even a day earlier than expected! The case is very nice and it was beautiful with no problems cosmetically. There are two notes that ring out off tune. After 2 days of trying to figure out if it was me or the pan, I definitely concluded the 2 notes are out of tune. In the handpan world, this is definitely reasonable for a very new beginner. However, I was able to find a RAV Vast tongue pan in really good condition for approximately the same price. Which is why I am choosing to return it. The quality in the RAV is superior and will never need to be tuned. I fear this will need to be tuned often and will add up in cost very quickly. I'm also not sure if I will be able to find somebody to do it properly. I will be saving up for a higher quality handpan in the future but there is a reason why these are not necessarily up to the standards for the lower cost. This wasn't terrible sounding, it was actually quite fun and I thought for 24 hours I would actually keep it. I had a lot of fun coming up with different rhythms and playing along with some YouTube tutorials for beginners. For younger folks or kids wanting to test the waters with handpans, I don't think this would be a bad idea. However, I grew up a musician and desire the higher quality & sound. Do your research on the web and use YouTube to decide on what fits your needs best.

I purchased one for our 18 month old who loves my drums. She seeks out this drum whenever she visits our home, so we also purchased one for her home. Our 30+ year old son played it when home for Christmas, and he quickly conveyed that he would love one for his home. It's a lovely, relaxing, melodic, instrument that can be used for many ages. I actually set the drum sticks aside for our granddaughter, as the black balls can be removed, so a choking hazard. I used a bamboo toothbrush, wrapped it with cotton, then taped them with black tape with a bulbous end. These sticks work beautifully for little ones and safer than the drumsticks with balls that easily become loose.
