Methods of Enjoying
Using hands or mallets. Playing it with hands demands higher standards of hands’ power and more accurate tapping position, therefore using mallets is your first choice(especially for new). The sound under the mallets will be more penetrating, purer and more ethereal. Holding the mallet 1/3 and tapping the middle of tongue head, you will get the prefect sound. If some "noise" comes out when you playing it, it is mostly caused by tapping incorrect location.

This little drum has excellent sound quality, and the stickers with the letter names of the notes are helpful in learning how to play it. The stickers can be easily removed when they are no longer needed. It arrived quickly, and in excellent condition. I'm very pleased to have such a lovely percussion instrument.

I ordered with trepidation, because quality and sound varies with brand, and, per the reviews, some people had non-working notes.But what I received was perfect, with such a beautify tone (using the mallets) that playing it is a meditation in itself.If I could afford a second one, I would use magnets to flatten each note, so that, between the two tongue drums, I would have the full chromatic scale.But just one of these tongue drums, as is, sends me into higher consciousness.

Great quality starter hand pan/rav drum. Carrying case has handles and a shoulder strap, which is really a great detail. I purchased some marimba mallets as well bc I like the softer/muted sound. Mallets that are included are soft silicone but they are a bit small, just FYI.

Fairly fast delivery and looks fantastic but really dissatisfied with the tone. It sounds flat and heavy. Does not sound good. Granted it could be user error or inexperience and so I will keep at it. But at the moment I have definite buyer regret.Would not repurchase
