My wife saw a video with the rain making this operate. It doesn't. But for a child with the drum sticks it will drive you nuts!

For the inexpensive price of this little peaceful drum, it’s quite nice! Do not compare it to the expensive $100 plus drums- their sound is much better.

I love the sound of this tongue drum! It sounds like those metal ball chime pendants. It’s so soft and ring-y.So I can’t tune by ear or anything, but I tested the tongues with an tuner. The big tongues are spot on. The little tongues seem to be off, but I think it’s actually how I hit them. Sometimes they are on, but the “sweet spot” is smaller, so I’m probably missing it and that’s why they don’t register as in tune. I guess it’s a muscle memory thing…so practice will make perfect.Notes (I know nothing but this seems to be a D major scale. Oh! It has a “D” on the back so I must be right! Yay! ):Big 7 = C#4 (is sharp? I think this should be a C#4, but the tuner says C#5 for some reason…)Big 2 = E5 (is sharp?)4 = G5Little 6 = B5 (is sharp?)Little 1= D5Big 6 = B4 (is a bit sharp?)Little 7 = C#5 (This is definitely higher than the Big 7, so why does it show up the same? )Little 5 = A5 (bit sharp?)3 = F#5Big 1 = D5Big 5 = A4I like the sound the mallets make, they ring/resonate the most :) The finger picks? (the black rubber ring things) make a more muted sound, and my fingers don’t make it sound very nice at all, really. I think the swirly thing must be a mallet rest or something? It also comes with extra number stickers (black on white, and white on black) for people who need something with higher contrast, I guess? There is a song book with regular music notation and the numbers corresponding to the tongues on top of the notes.I’m having fun tinkering with it and hope to learn at least one song :) The sound is so ethereal! It’s so cool and I can’t believe I didn’t even know it existed before! It makes music so accessible!Trivia: This instrument was created in the year 2007 and was first made out of a propane cylinder! Wow!P.S. The product page says it’s in “D Major” duh! I couldn’t find that the other day. Strange. Oh, and it comes with a black velvet drawstring bag. I forgot to mention that.

I LOVE IT!It's way smaller than it appears on the site, so I took plenty of pictures so you could see. I love tongue drums, and I love this little guy because it fits on my nightstand and I can play a few little tunes before I head to bed.It resonates fairly well, but there are a couple notes that leave a "trill" I don't entirely love. I wouldn't know the first thing about tuning that or adjusting that, and it happens regardless of how soft or hard I play it, so I tend to avoid the notes that aren't as accurately manufactured. They come with these cushy plastic finger rings so you can do some finger playing. I tried it a little bit and I would like to try it more to get good at it. (Read: I'm not). Finger playing requires a speed and lightness and motor control I just don't have lol.The little mini mallets are good enough! It comes with a carrying case and a place to put everything so you can protect and take it along with you to gatherings. It is so small, it fits everywhere. I love it!

Got this for my kids who really have been enjoying it allot. Unfortunately, not all of the notes actually work. There's one (the smallest note) that doesn't actually make the correct sound. That doesn't stop my kids from playing this instrument though! They really love hitting it and also love that it comes with a little music book.

This steel tongue drum is a good size and the sound is incredible. Even if you can't play it sounds amazing. It resonates so well it fill the room with sound. A great gift and it's well made. I would buy again. It was a gift and the recipient loved it.
