Works exactly is you would expect: It lets me buy my wife flowering plants that she will keep alive. So the saving on bunches of flowers is a big saving for me!I notice they have been in the dirt for many months now, when I pull one out I can see the coating from the reaction (anodizing? not sure) but it makes absolutely no difference to the accuracy of this neat device.I would highly recommend them. Even if it fails after a year (It hasn't), it is still a great product for the price.The only problem is the plants keep growing and as I said to my wife: "Yes, I know you asked me to pot them up. You don't have to keep reminding me every six months!"

These meters are reliable and the price is right. I've had 1 for over a year and decided to order more because they work so well. I can keep one in every room where I have plants and they help ensure I'm caring for them correctly. I have ordered the digital meters in the past and each of them have broken over time. These meters just keep going.

I got these meters to track the moisture of the soil in my lemon trees that I brought inside for the winter. I store them under a grow light in the basement, where it is often dry in the winter. At first I thought they were great and gave me a good idea of the moisture, but now after having them for a little while, they don't read that the soil it wet even when I soak the plants. So, either I am watering wrong, which is completely possible, or these don't track moisture very well. The PH reading I have no way to know if it is accurate and the light monitor says it is really dark even when it is under the super bright grow light, which is making the trees so happy with tons of new growth. So the light sensor doesn't work. Hope this long description is helpful. Try a different meter, if you ask me!

Awesome for what you pay for!! This is great for starters in the Hydroponic gardening world or for those who want to just see if this growing style is for them!!! However if you are an experienced Hydri Gardener then you will want to upgrade to a WiFi kind to track & monitor 24/7 from cell/tablet.

I purchased this in hopes to maintain my plants better. I love the moisture and light setting the most. I didn't realize that the brightest east facing window was still considered somewhat dark for my plants. The moisture meter is awesome. No guessing when to water, just read the meter!
