I wanted a 4-in-1 meter and this was the brand that worked best for me. I took it out of the box and tried it out on several of my plants and it worked great. Two other brands I tried had thicker probes that had "grooves" near the tip and dirt was building up in them after only one reading and one of those other brands broke after one use. This probe does not have those grooves and seems far more robust to me.

Works perfect and the readings seem spot on.

I'm very new to owning houseplants, I tried my hand at it back in college and it did not go well. I bought this to help me keep an eye on the soil conditions, as I feel that my previous failures have mostly stemmed from underwatering and lack of fertilizer/nutrients.After experimenting the moisture, nutrient and pH functions of the meter appear to work very well. I will still likely use my finger to confirm the moisture readings as I know overwatering can be a common issue as well, and one of my plants already has root rot (came to me in this condition), but this meter definitely gives me some peace of mind to be more confident in my watering schedule than I would be by just feel alone. Paired with a plant care app on my phone (Plant Parent: Plant Care Guide) I think I'm getting the hang of things. My only complaint is that the light meter doesn't seem very precise (what are the numbers on the dial anyway, lux, foot candles? I can't tell) and I've only been able to get it to go from 0/dark in any type of indirect lighting to the max reading when moving it to direct light. I've never been able to get any readings in between. Fortunately there is a really good phone app that measures foot candles (Lux Light Meter Pro on Android) and some guides online (House Plant Journal) that tell you about how many ftc each plant species needs to survive or thrive so that has helped fill in where this device is deficient. It would be wonderful if the light sensor was more sensitive but for the price, I feel like this was still a pretty good deal and I'm glad I bought it.

This is a very nice device. Completely rust resistant? Accurate readings, perfect size, very durable and a great value for the money.

I've used this perhaps 5 times total since I purchased a little more than 2 months ago. Today I stuck it in the ground, the moisture meter registered the soil as wet, and when I pulled it back out of the ground, the tip had come off in the soil. The meter of course no longer functions. The soil was very moist, so I can think of no other explanation for it coming apart other than it was just made poorly. And of course I'm beyond the 30 day return window. Really aggravating.

I bought these so my granddaughter knew when to water her potted cherry tomato and strawberry plants. It works well. We also utilized the light indicator because we had to bring in the plants for several days due to weather. Her plants are thriving but some were on the verge of dying before I bought the meters.

I only wanted to know the soil PH, and the indicator for that reading is right at the bottom of the dial. It shows up as a line, rather than a dial. Perhaps having 4 uses for one tool might not be a good thing. You have to read the quick start guide (aka manual) to understand how to use this. Since this has 4-in-1 modes, you will need to move the switch to get the correct reading. There are 4 switch settings.Reading the manual you will find it has a useful list in the back with plant PH info. and what plants require for each setting. An online version of this would be helpful.I tried testing the PH of rainwater collected in a rain barrel a few hours earlier and it said it was 5 to 6 PH.

I love this tester that I use primarily to test for moisture for my indoor orchids and my numerous outdoor plants. I have three very distinct micro weather areas around my property so now I do not need to guess what plants needs more water. I am now able to water each plant according to its needs. I highly recommend it and well worth the peace of mind.

It is a wonderful product. I have used products of many brands before. After a few uses, they all went to waste. It is very easy to use and very understandable.

I bought this "Sonkir 4-in-1 Soil Moisture Meter" almost a year ago and have been using it weekly (sometimes more frequently). Highly recommend this moisture meter - it's a fantastic tool that's saved me from overwatering my lovely plants!! 🪴I wanted a "no-battery manually operated" meter such as this one (very convenient).I also noticed some of the 3-in-1 or 4-in-1 meters have two prongs instead of one prong like this - since two prongs make it more challenging putting it into your plant's soil without disrupting the plant's root system, opted for this meter and am super happy with it. I no longer have to stick my finger into the soil to check moisture levels and even better, this probe reaches quite deep since often the soil might seem dry at the top couple of inches while the soil is quite moist/wet when it's a few inches deep and you don't want to overwater your plant which can cause root rot 😕I've also used the meter to check PH levels and light levels which is very handy.....admittedly, I'm not sure how accurate the meter is at determining nutrient levels since I did have one plant with slightly yellowing leaves and it ended up needing a bit of fertilizer (the nutrient meter reading didn't pick up that nutrients were lacking in the soil for that particular plant). In any case, I would repurchase this Sonkir moisture meter if I lost it and certainly recommend it!

It works fine and not requiring a battery is a bonus. No need to buy one that requires a battery because you can see the results easily. The moisture sensor is what I use most and is good.

Very clear dial. Seems to work well with repeated readings confirming earlier ones. My bueberries will thank me for this!

Two or three years ago, governmental advice was that 'Peat' would be banned from composts in 2024, but it appears that this has been extended to 2025.Since then, the Compost Producers have come up with dozens of recipes substituting various recycled products in lieu of Peat. IMHO, and not to put too fine a point on it, I think the majority are a poor substitute. To counteract this I have started making my own Potting (Peat Free)Composts and found it to be a big learning curve, not the least getting hold of economical accurate 'Testing Kits'After reading countless reviews, I am finding that many of the reviewers credit the meter as working OK and give 5***** when in fact it is not! Admittedly a few say they do not know if the readings they get are accurate 4****, and others say the product is rubbish 1*My own findings are that, generally, the kits on offer are not up to the job, some work, others don't and the multitasking meters in many cases only partially work, if at all!I am finding this to be the case with the Sonkir 4-in-1 Soil Moisture Meter. I purchased this model for one reason and that was to get the benefit of the 'Nutrient' test facility it contains, and with a bit of luck possibly an accurate pH meter. To explain; I now have three soil testers (not to forget the two or three I sent back for a refund) and not one of them has come up to their advertised specification. For instance, with the 3in 1 meter I purchased in 2020 I have found from various tests** I have made I consistently get a reading that is 1 pH too high, meaning if I am aiming for a pH of 6.5 I have to display a reading of 7.5.I have managed to make do with this product by simply making a mental adjustment each time I do a test! ** These tests consisted of using 'Testing strips'(BTW, This is another minefield when it comes to purchasing suitable Testing Strips.)In the end, I contacted a Soil Testing Lab, and they pointed me in the right direction as to what to buy. With the Sonkir 4-in 1 meter I have found that the 'pH facility' is very sluggish, and I find that I have to leave the probe in the compost for at least 10 minutes and even then I found that it was displaying a reading that is approximately 0.5 pH units lower than I would expect. The Nutrient tester works in so far as providing I am in the range of 2-8, and I am OK with that, knowing that by supplementary feeding it is quite easy to adjust the compost/soil with liquid fertilisers. The reason I purchased this 4 in 1 meter in particular, was to get the benefit of the 'Nutrient' test facility it contains, and with a bit of luck possibly an accurate pH meter, sadly this was not to be. (For reasons shown above)In the case of the moisture metering like the Nutrient facility, all I want to know if my compost is wet or dry. When I know this, the remedy is quite simple i.e.if it reads dry I get the watering can out.In conclusion, my first impulse was to return the Sonkir meter, but then I realised that between my three meters I have ended up with a 4-in-1 facility, albeit I have three meters to do it with.I hope you find this useful!
