I use it with a sonoff wifi switch and a 12v power adapter to let my dogs out of the garage when i am at work. I made the back door spring loaded to pull open. I start work early and the dogs dont need to be in the back yard barking at 5am. Disturbing the neighbors. Now i can open the door from work at a later hour and let the neighbors sleep. The sonoff switch is only 6.50 at amazon. The trunk release has a 1 inch travel and will either push or pull depending on the polarity of the power. Works great! How ever if you leave power to it, it will get hot fast and probably burn out, or start a fire. Its risky to rely on wifi to shut it off. I rigged a momentary push button switch (also from amazon) like a horn or doorbell switch that only makes electrical contact when it is pressed in. I have the switch wired between the trunk release and the positive side of the 12volt adapter. As soon as the door opens the switch also releases and shuts off the 12volts to the trunk release. This way there is no urgent need to shut off the sonoff switch, in a rare case if my phone went dead before i could do that. Of course in order for this to work, you must be sure the door knob doesn't catch. I drilled a 1/4 inch hole in the side of the door and slide the pin in from the trunk release to load it before i leave the house. If the dogs push on the door, the doorknob still wont engage in it catch.

Best replacement if you don't need oem, just watch a youtube video if you need help with a location and wiring setup.

These are universal solenoids, easily installed anyone with basic mechanical skills. The actual use will determine fitness. I combined with a Amazon cheap keyless entry system Qook keyless entry. This is ideal way to go, for $17 you can't build anything that cheap. These were installed in a 2004 F-150 Heritage, took only minutes for each door. The system with wiring is simple, just run a few wires and find the wires to flash the turn signals while locking or unlocking. It works even if you don't get around to the turn signal thing:) .The solenoids seem to fire with plenty of force, I have even thought about adding a resistor to reduce the `slam`. Actual life of product will determine their real value, I think they will be fine.

These are good strong solenoid actuators with 3/4" movement. If mounted properly they can create a rotation of 90 degrees, which was my application. The issue I had was one of them only worked for a few dozen cycles, then got hot and failed. Lucky I had my own spare. I would buy them again.

I used one of these actuators in the tailgate of my Tacoma. It came with a manual lock only. OEM and aftermarket Tacoma actuators were $100-$200. These were only a few bucks and now I can use my remote to lock/unlock the tailgate along with the doors. I may set one up so I can lock/unlock the door to my house. How awesome would that be when its dark and you forgot the porch light? No keys needed!

Good value ðŸ‘I wish rods were longer . On my Tacoma I needed rods about 3 times longer . I wish they even sold longer rods. Clamps supplied are very good but they are huge when trying to place them in such a restricted area as between the door frame and panel .I ended up using RC rods from hobby store. These rods are used for linking servos to airplane surfaces .The Tacoma uses cables not rods so you need a rod that goes from manual lock all they way down to the bottom corner where there is a pocket to house actuator. Also had to fabricate a longer metal bracket out of a strong tie bracket .As for longevity I can't say been using for 2 days .Also the electronic module has no connections for adding a interior lock/ unlock switch.Otherwise these are a great deal ðŸ‘

Nearly perfect fit to replace the servos on my motorhome bay doors. The RV specific units are ten times the price and are nearly identical. These units from Amazon even have the identical colored wires for easy install without worrying about polarity.

My boy friend wanted to convert the truck lock, to remote lock and unlock with the drivers doors, on his 2016 toyota tacoma at a cheap price. It shipped quickly and the mecanism is sturdy and powerfull. It took him about 2 hours to install (dismantling the trunk door, passing a wire from the trunk to the front passenger wires then stripping and attaching the wires, drilling the inner trunk in order to attach this module and also attaching it to the trunk lock, securing everything into place, testing the remote lock and unlock, then putting the wire and trunk covers back into place). It works like a charm! No more frozen trunk lock to deal with in the winter!!!

I bought these to repair my GMC which has not worked for 6 years. GM parts are over $270 each, multiply that by 5 doors on a Suburban, ya its $1350. You have to a make these work but they adapt easily and function as well as the OEM for a fraction of the cost. The factory units fail so often its a much better idea to buy this low cost alternative and get your locks back in order.

Very good value for relatively strong actuators. Haven't tested the manufacturer's claim that they push and pull to approximately 10lbs or 4 kg, but they work well in my older 1970's car that utilizes metal rods to lock and unlock the doors. Time will tell how long they might last, but the write up indicates 100,000+ activations. Will purchase another set of 12V actuators as backup in case these fail ....
