Using the MAX4466, an op-amp specifically designed for amplifier
For the best performance, use the "quietest" supply available (on an for Arduino, this would be the 3.3V supply)
The amplifier has excellent power supply noise rejection
This breakout board is best used for projects such as voice changers, audio recordingmpling, and audio-reactive projects that use FFT

I am using these to help my daughter build out a little 'spy kit' along with an Arduino MUC. These amps worked well to acquire signal for basic sound-triggered devices and to provide audio capture to an MP3 recorder board, and were easy to integrate, as well as being inexpensive to try on a whim.

I wired up one of these sensors for an Arduino project I am working on. It performed well. I was able to convert sound levels to voltage output and then to a display via the Arduino.Would buy again.
