I'm making hiking sticks for friends, and decided to add these whistles to them (hanging on the back of the stick with an eyehook). They are pretty, and very loud. Have ordered about a dozen of them so far.

I used to carry this with me for extra ‘protection’, however the base disconnected from each other and it got lost. I tested the other one by pulling gently, and it slipped right off. The whistle was loud and clear though if kept in a secured area.

I like these whistles. The $4/each price is much cheaper than the titanium whistles that Amazon sells, but these are just as sturdy and are louder, probably because they are a little bigger not because of the type of metal. The steel construction is thick enough to be sturdy but thin enough that the weight is less than half an ounce per whistle. No complaints at this price level. 5 stars.
