These mats make it so much easier to lift my dough into and out of the dutch oven without burning my hands. I like to fold the flaps down between the dough and the sides of the dutch oven, which makes a little shelf to place ice cubes for steam while baking. Wipe clean easily and never stain.

I used it for my sourdough in a dutch over (folded the flaps into the dutch oven) on 475F. I was a bit nervous about that temp but I did well, no issues.

The slings made pulling my finished loaf from the dutch oven easily. I just wanted the slings but am happy that it came with some extras. All of it has come in handy and I have no complaints about any of it

These are the perfect size for bread baking, especially in dutch ovens. However, negatives include the edges not being sealed - looks like it was just cut, and no way to wind up/store away the mats (you can use a rubberband yourself, but it would have been nice to include some band with the kit.

I really like having these slings available. My husband bakes a lot of bread, buns and sweet rolls and he finds uses for all of the various pans he uses. I have found them helpful for lifting bars out of the pan for easier cutting. I just place both of them into whatever pan I'm using in a manner that will let me lift the bars out after cooling. It's worked every time. They clean up easily and air dry, so that's easy enough. They have been through a lot in a short time, so I think they will hold up well over time. Do you HAVE to have these? No, but they sure make life a little easier. And who can't use more of that?
