The valve had well finished threads and did not require excessive amount of compression to seat the fittings to prevent water leaking. The handle offset makes the rotation direction easy to discern even in the dark and does not require a lot of leverage to operate the valve open/close action.

Bought as a shut off for my water softener. Water running for three months with no leaks. valve cuts 100% of water off.

Installed these on the cold and hot fresh water drain lines on my 1996 Skyliner Nomad RV camper trailer. The stock were plastic crimped on NPT fittings with a plastic NPT plug. Over the years they deteriorated and cracked. I purchased at a local hardware store the necessary slip-on no crimping no putty fittings and then added these shut-off valves. I did use a putty when fitting them on. No leaks, no problems and they turn on and off smoothly with little effort. Great little upgrade for my RV.

These appear to be a better valve than the big box stores sell. The handle is much sturdier that most on the market.

I needed these on an ABS line for my sump pump. They are threaded, so all I had to do was buy threaded ABS fittings and Teflon tape to be compatible. No special transition glue!

Like so many reviews the title says it all. These are nice heavy duty valves, however it is very difficult to determine what size you need from the measurement chart. First off it mixes metric and SAE, not the end of the world but also not a good idea. Second there are a number of measurements that have no corresponding place in the table. There is a d3 in the chart that has no corresponding measure on the diagram, and d, d1 and d2 on the diagram (three of the most important measurements) have no corresponding place in the chart.Basically if you know exactly what you need these are great. If you are a weekend handyman who has to figure stuff out as you go you might end up making the same mistake as I did and buy the wrong size based on guesses and missing measurements.So average of 3 stars, 5 for the actual valve, 1 for the critical documentation.
