These blades don't cut through mats or fur at all, great for opening envelopes though.

These are very sharp mat removers, and they work well for removing clumps on my longhair cats. Just be careful not to cut your pet's skin, if the knots are close to the skin. They are also excellent letter / envelope openers. The bonus comb is a very fine-toothed one, and is very good for making your pet's fur silky smooth.
