Time will tell but so far this heat tape works exactly as i had hoped for my gutters to melt snow and ice. I have them connected to a heavy duty switch to turn them on and off as needed. I will say the clips that come with it are very soft metal and bend easily but i didn’t need them to connect to shingles as i only installed into the gutters.

The only drawback was quantity and quality of the clips. Luckily I ordered extra clips.

Installed a couple weeks ago but haven't had to use it as the weather has been nice. Plugged in to make sure it heated up and it only took a couple minutes for it to heat up. Will update as needed

Not UL Certified for Safety. Could not find anything in description nor on the box, the instructions, nor the cable itself. Don't think you should be selling a product that is not safe. Someone please comment if I am wrong in my thinking "Safety First" Made In China. Returned Product.

It is installed on our cottage roof, and after probably 50 inspections by a very pleased husband has been deemed as ‘doing the job’ . High praise as we have had a lot a lot a lot of snow, and the eaves are not piling up with snow. Yes there are three ‘a lot of’s because there has been! Great product says inspector husband.

Got the 50ft, Wrapped it around a frozen downspout and nothing happened, it's been 8hrs now since instalation and the downspout is still frozen. The light on the plug is on but the cable is not getting warm. Outside temperature is -6
