As a seasoned mechanic, I’ve dealt with my fair share of finicky carburetors, so when my Tecumseh HM100 started acting up, I knew it was time for a replacement. I picked up this carburetor with cautious optimism, and let me tell you—it exceeded my expectations like a rookie outpitching a veteran.The build quality is solid, and the fit was dead-on accurate. I didn’t have to wrestle with alignment or drill out mounting holes like you do with some aftermarket parts. A quick inspection revealed smooth casting, clean jets, and no signs of the dreaded burrs that plague cheap replacements. Installation was straightforward—just bolt it on and fire it up. Replaced the carb on my 9hp engine, it never worked right from the start. The engine needed to be run on half choke to even run somewhat normal. It worked for maybe a half hour of use. Went out two weeks later to use the chipper again and it wouldn't fire up. Ended up having to use starting fluid to get it to start and after a while it finally ran. Used it for about an hour that day. The following weekend i went to use it again and it would not start, again tried starting fluid and it would run on that but it seems that there is no gas going through the carburetor. Would not recommend this carb

Only issues are, the shutoff valve doesn't fit the tank grommet, and the fuel input is at a 90-degree angle instead of straight like the original. I just routed the hose to the carb side of the engine and used a tie wrap to be sure it doesn't touch the motor. The air filter as well as the spark plug are correct. The fuel filter seems small, I didn't use it as I had just installed a new one.This generator hadn't been run in about 10 years. Once I installed the new carb, filters and spark plug it coughed on the second pull (I was going easy to get fuel to the carb), two more pulls and it started right up.

I installed it in a generator which is now 24 years old! The old carb was COMPLETELY clogged! This took a minor modification but came with EVERYTHING you need! Installed it, sprayed a little starter fluid, pulled twice, and after 24 YWAR, it ran like a champ! If you need one, get it BEFORE throwing away your generator!

For an affordable aftermarket carb I couldn’t be happier. Brought my Coleman / Tecumseh 10hp Generator back to life. No issues after working fuel through the new carb. Thumbs up!
