I have a metal Spider Strainer that I love, but for shallow frying, that’s not an option. I needed something that wouldn’t scratch up my enamel coated cast iron pot or the non stick coating on my electric skillet. This works perfectly! The strainer portion isn’t huge but at 4†it still works really well and doesn’t melt in hot oil. My dishwasher pods are too harsh on silicone and leaves that awful white residue so I hand wash mine with a little Dawn. It is very easy to clean. It is very comfortable in my hand, easy to use because it’s sturdy and the handle stays cool to the touch. The price is reasonable. It’s rated safe for 480 degrees but I never fry that hot. I can personally vouch that it doesn’t melt in oil heated to 350-425 degrees. Keep in mind, I use it to scoop items out. I wouldn’t just leave it sitting in hot oil, that’s not its job.

This slotted spoon is just great. It is heat resistant, sturdy and non-stick. I use it for straining and skimming. And it was selling at a reasonable price.

After my last slotted spoon started to fall apart, I found my self needing a new one. Boy did I find a great replacement. This spoon is sturdy and can hold food in it. The slots are the perfect size for the liquid to release, but still hold the food. It is great that it does not scratch the bottom of my pots, pans and trays. I have used this in a deep fryer to pull out fries and it held up to the heat very well. It is very easy to clean and nothing sticks to it. I also think it looks really sharp. I am happy I choose this spoon.
