These are awkward at first because of how flimsy they are (durable, but they flop around), which also makes them awkward to store. Once you get used to them, they really do work great. For storing them, I just roll them up and keep them inside my pie plate. You could also put it around your pie plate as if you were going to bake a pie and then set your second one on top to keep your pie plates from scratching. Just a thought. There is a tiny notch at the bottom so that you can just slide it into the slit that you need for the correct size, then rest the excess on top of the crust that is already covered. Basically, it's like the excess length of a belt resting on top of the used part of the belt. Hopefully, that makes sense! It will stay in place because of the shape of it. Trust me, it works! You can put them in the dishwasher when you're done, but this is also a bit awkward at first. You get used to it very quickly. And once you do, you'll be so glad that you have these. I will say that if you don't have a dishwasher, I feel like this is going to be hard to wash by hand. That's just my opinion.

Much easier to use than foil, adjusts to different sizes of pie.

I had one of these and wanted to buy a couple more. These ones were more flimsy than the one I had. Spend a little more for quality.

I used this to make my pumpkin pie. It worked amazingly well. I had no issues using it once I figured it out. My crust came out great and was not burnt!

This adjustable crust protector works great with all my pie dishes. Keeps the crust from getting too dark. Easy to put on and take off.

The adjustable part was good in theory but not in practice. It fell off when I tried to put the pie in the oven. It took several tries to get it to stay on. It was just too floppy. It was also thinner than expected so it didn't really cover enough of the crust edge. Good idea but bad in execution.

I was excited to receive the pie crust guards right before Thanksgiving to use on my pies. Plain old tin foil works one hundred times better these edge guards. They were easy to put on, just didn’t keep the pie crust edge from getting baked too much.

It does the job but my pie pans have handles so it doesn't fit well and comes unlatched.
