I stumbled on these last spring when I was planting seeds indoors for spring planting. They're easy to use and the germination rate was very good. I like this plate so much that I bought a second one for my other Harvest unit.

I am still sick that Aerogarden decided to go out of business. I start my outdoor garden plants in the Aerogarden, which gets them started faster, and stronger. After a few weeks, I transfer them to pots to get their roots acclimated to soil and get the final growth they need before transplanting into my outdoor garden. I have one other small Aerogarden with a seed starting system, and it allows me to start more plants, so I added this one to allow me to start most all of my plants to be ready for transplanting at the same time. If you are reading this, I hope they have some left, because it is a must have for making the most of the Aerogarden system.

Wish I had this years ago! The very best way to start seedlings. Works much better than any of the seedling trays with lids that I have bought. And more quickly, too! Make sure you get the right one for your Aerogarden model.I have the basic Bounty. 9 holes. Got my husband to pop out the pump and reinstall to this new deck. He used a very small screwdriver and said it wasn't hard. Very happy with my purchase. I'm just wondering what I am going to do with all this basil.

Recently got the Harvest XL as an Introduction to Aeogarden and also got the Seed starting kit to help me get my spring planting going. This Seed Starting Kit did not fit the Harvest XL! However, I loved the Harvest XL so much that I got a Harvest 2.0 to work with this kit.The seed Starting kit works great! Comes with nutrient and growing sponges. I already have seeds sprouting after almost a week of use.

It fits well in the aero garden, and allows for many different growing options and it works great.Con- because there is nothing to cover the soil algae does get built up on them which can look kind of gross.

This is great. It allows me to start more seeds at one time. I don't need a lot of space. I use a lot of older seeds and I can tell quickly what seeds need tossed without starting flats, wasting garden space or messing with potting mix. Refill sponges fit fine and are cheap and no mess. I made a blank chart that I label and tape inside cabinet door so I know what is sprouting without plant labels. When seedlings get big enough I move them straight to garden if warm enough or 4" pots under grow lights if too cold outside. I don't get much transplant shock or have much trouble hardening things off if I move outside during cloudy weather. I toss this tray in top rack of dishwasher or hand wash between sowing. Don't put black basin or little rubber cap in dishwasher but the sponge holder tray has done fine for me in my dishwasher. This tray let's me start salad greens all summer inside so I don't have to worry about bolting lettuce, arugula and cilantro. Love love love this accessory.

Starting seeds this way took off like lightning! I got my first germination on about half my lettuces, kale, and bok choy in under 48 hours of planting seeds. The photos I've included here are my seedlings at 4 days from sowing, 9 days from sowing, and the ones in pots are only 18 days after sowing seeds! I put them in the garden today.I'm going to use this method to start seeds from now on, especially to play catch-up in the garden. Succession sowing of lettuces will be quick and easy with the Aerogarden. I can see getting pepper plants up and running much faster indoors in the late winter months to get a good head start on the season. I highly recommend this for your Aerogarden!

I absolutely love my aero garden and I have so often in the last two years used it to start plants, and ended up cutting the plastic away from the root systems and potting them at a certain point. So this year I decided to just use it to sprout seeds, and well looking for replacement Pod, I found this! i'm so excited that I can plant 23 babies, and in two weeks time I will be able to stick them in pots and then in my garden! I also bought an additional 50 dirt so I can do a few rounds of this, but the attachment is absolutely perfect! I have the little aero garden that fits six Plants, I traditionally use it for herbs, I have not tried it with vegetables, The instructions did mention how to sprout larger seeds so I might even try some squash or zucchini, or cucumber, very very very excited! I figure I can sprout babies for at least one more month then I will revert back to the garden system and grow my kitchen herbs and keep it on the counter. 1000% worth it, good price and awesome idea! Oh, it is also the brand not a rip off or fake name brand, it is actually from aero garden.

You can grow 23 little seedlings from seeds and the Aerogarden harvest with provide light, water, nutrients and warm to kick start the little seeds to germinate and grow. When the seedlings are few inches tall, I'll transfer them to potting soil and get ready to go outdoors in spring.I also use it to grow Bok Choy for direct consumption. Oh yeah, 23 baby Bok Choy in 1 tray. I'd thin out first harvest evenly with 8 Bok Choy for dinner and let the remaining grow a bit. The next week another thinning of 8, and finally finished the rest in total of 30-60 days. Then start another round, say lettuce, don't want it as boring Bok Choy again.I also 3D print a deck with 18 holes if I want a bigger plants, but this Aerogarden deck is the best.

Be advised that this item is only for the newer Harvest models. It is not compatible with the Harvest Classic. I will hold onto it for when I can afford a newer model but very disappointed.

Within a week I had such phenominal plant and root growth and was able to move 8 plants of the 23 seeds started in the germination tray to larger pods in a still water (Kratky type) grow tray with a timed Grow light and reseeded the empty spots with new seeds. I had received a 6 hole grow tray with the aerogarden system but they came with herbs seeded so I built another small tray to mount the Aerogarden 6 hole tray in it and added a grow light . I would have loved to have had another Aerogarden system to move the 8 plants to leave there permantly to see how they developed.
