I enjoy having a garden but honestly don’t know much about what I’m doing. I did discover these pods and used them one spring to start veggie plants inside before planting time. They worked great. The first time I tried them I bought a kit at a local agway store. Came with a plastic tray with set in spots for each pod. Worked well. This time I just bought the pods off Amazon. Pods worked great just the same but I don’t have a tray to put them in. I used a plastic tub. Put them in rows with the seed packet label so I’d remember which row was which. Didn’t work well. Pods roll around and my rows changed and lost track of what was what. Point being…having the tray is super helpful if you’re stating plants inside.

What I really needed was coconut husk in a brick from, but I couldn't get any to ship in time so I had to order these instead, intending to liberate them from their paper wrappers after hydrating. Beware! Whatever is inside these things has tiny thorns! It was acceptable for starting seeds, but definitely the wrong product for the way I wanted to use it. Whatever this is, it's not 100% coconut.

These were smaller than I thought I wanted, but I had 100% success with my first try! I bought them to refill a set I bought, but these were so much better than what they replaced. I'm very pleased.

Great value for the money but wish they were a little sturdier

Expanded well when water was warmed before adding.

this is more of a seed sack, then a pod. hard to keep upright in trays and my seeds didn't like to sprout in these compared to my normal seed starting pods. threw away the rest.

I was surprised at how quickly they soaked up the water and hydrated. They grow as large as another brand that I buy so I was happy they were close to the same size (I wanted to try a less expensive brand as I will seed for 350 or so seedlings each spring). The netting is secure but it did lose a star at how warped they were and the netting wasn't always easy to rip open. I seeded this weekend and because the netting over the hole isn't cut out, the first few made a mess as I tore apart the top (after soaking) to tuck in seeds.Update: although the price is very good, these are a definite "nope" for me. I used the rest of them recently and they just make a mess. Maybe I'm a little OCD but as you see in the 3rd photo, I had to tear open the netting which made a mess with the coir and as I'm seeding 400 of these for the garden, I prefer a cleaner tray. I'll stick with my regular brand (Jiffy).
