Tips:

1.When you are using the leather stitching punch be sure to put a rubber cushion on the table to protect the sharp chisel teeth.

2.Must be perpendicular to the perforated leather, do not hit it with a heavy hammer, you can use a plastic or nylon hammer.

3. When not in use, you can apply a layer of oil between the incisions and put on a protective sleeve for maintenance.

4. Because the tip of the teeth is thin and sharp, you don't need to use a lot of force to hammer, otherwise it is very easy to break, especially 1 and 2 prong.

You will receive:

  • Plastic storage box
  • Velvet storage bag
  • Instruction manual
  • 1 Prong / 2 Prong / 4 Prong / 6 Prong

3

Step 1、Adjust the spacing gauge, set the spacing of the line

5

Step 2、 Draw the equidistant line on the leather

6

Step 3、The 6-tooth prong is used on the long line, saving time and effort

7

Step 4、Continue in the direction of the last hole.

This is a very nice set of stitching punches. They are great for light leather. I have been using them on wallets made of 2 oz veg-tan leather and they work great. You of course need a backer board to punch on and a good mallet to strike them. The are sharp and hole up well. I am happy with them.

So the one with the longest head doesn't punch perfectly straight (the bend is only slight). There's also the issue of extended use in one session. If using the tools a lot in one session, the edges of the handles get a little painful to hold if you don't have enough callus build up in your fingers. Beyond the crooked tooth, the punches are still great. I probably just got a bad one.

I bought these when I needed to make some leather covers. I originally had ordered the 4mm spacing, but soon realized that I needed a bit more separation for the stitching on other projects I was working on so I ordered the 5mm set as well. After several projects, I have yet to experience any issues with these lacing chisels. They have remained sharp and have stood the beating on my hammer while using them. They are hard enough and have withstood the abuse extremely well. Even though I use a metal hammer, they have yet to experience any metal displacement on the head of the chisel and have remained sharp. For the price and quality, these can't be beat. Excellent brand and quality. Should I need larger chisels, you can bet that I will buy this brand again. Well made (durability, finish, sharpness, size, ease of use, etc., etc.) and an excellent value for your money.

The best you can buy for that money. Decent quality, sharp.Best for the price!!!Lacking polishing between the tooth, but do not expect that in this price range.

I love the sharpness however be aware that if your stamping through thick leather, when pulling the tools out, they will bent. Sharp as heck though

These are nice for being affordable. The finish between the tines is not polished, but not so rough it damages the leather like other cheaper stitching chisels. For a tool that will be used all the time, my suggestion is to spend the money up front for the quality ones instead of spending more money by buying with the intention to upgrade later. However, if you are in a position like mine where you need a stitching chisel on a budget and have reasons to not wait to save, this is the one. If you are doing maybe one or two projects, these would also be good for that.I was able to polish the tines for mine so it works very well now. Although it required less polishing, it still needs it if you plan to use it a lot before upgrading. The metal is soft and I suspect it would bend easily. It also doesn't hold the sharpness of the edges (the purpose of the diamond shape) and point as well.Overall I would buy more sizes from Aiskaer if I am still under budget when I need another size. However, for a critical tool like these. I would prefer to buy quality and skip the upgrade path since I will be in this craft for a very long time. If you must buy as cheap as you can, this is about the best before going into the tools that need serious finishing before being usable. I'm happy with these stitching chisels in the context of my situation, but not going to lie, don't have high expectations.

I used it but it doesn't go in deep with two layers of leather, I had to use my beveler to finish it up.

Recently only having started leather work: I bought cheaper chisels. They lasted one round before becoming increasingly dull. These however, have been punching holes into my project like a dream. My stitching has drastically improved due to the sharpness and sturdiness of these irons. My only gripe is: they didn’t come lubricated. Other than that, I would recommend these.
