AKLOT Steel tongue drum is hand-made by professional craftsmen, they attach much importance to the meticulous cutting for accurate tone, so again, don’t tune it before you are 100% sure you can do it. The steel tongue drum comes with highlight stickers for easier playing, and non-slip rubber feet for stable support when you playing.
How to Play AKLOT Steel Tongue Drum
Usually there are 2 ways to play the steel drum: play by hand or play with the drum mallets. However, playing it with hands demands higher standards of hand power and more accurate tapping position, therefore, use mallets to play it will be the first recommended choice (especially for new starters). The time you are familiar with playing the steel drum, you can try to play with hand freely. And we offer 6 finger picks for you to have a better experience as well.

This was a hit with my special needs daughter and continuous playing is not annoying it’s got such a nice sound, she can just randomly hit notes and it’s calming.

I'm a musician who has been playing the guitar and ukulele for more years than I care to admit. Recently became interested in tongue drums and after some research bought the 12" Aklot. Honestly thought that anything that cost under $50 would be junk, but I was wrong. The drum is beautiful to look at and built like a tank. First thing I did was to make sure all the tongues had good tone when struck, then set about testing the tuning. Took a while to realize that the sympathetic ringing from the neighboring tongues was affecting my tuner, but once I muted the two tongues closest to the one being tested all was well and happy to report all tongues in proper tune! By the way, this model is in the key of C, 440hz standard tuning. Thanks to the decals on the tongues, its easy to see what note each tongue is. Using some simple music theory I quickly started making beautiful music. Be aware that this drum requires using the included mallets to make a good sound. My only complaint is using just your fingers is not enough to get any decent tones out of the drum and I do not care for the finger picks.The drum now sits on my coffee table in the Florida room and I play it constantly.Are there better and more expensive tongue drums available? Of course, but at this price its a steal and a wonderful introduction to this fascinating and extremely pleasing instrument. Bring some magic to your life and let this drum mesmerize you. Peace.

My daughter has special needs (autism, cognitive disability). She is largely uninterested in gifts and tends to enjoy the bow more than opening the actual gift. This was a gift she actually engaged with! She enjoyed playing it with my help. I will mention that I do have to keep a close eye out that she does not put the stick in her mouth to chew the rubber ball. It comes off and is a serious choke hazard. So note that for young kids.This drum sounds great and is easy to play for someone non musical. I will say that a few tabs sound more "dead" than the others which really resonate a beautiful tone. If you are a musician this would be important to note. If you just want to make nice calming tones....this thing is great!

Bought for my wife as one of those gifts that she would never see coming. She loved it! It does actually ring during the rain, placed near a roof-made waterfall, and it's not too loud where you'd want to shoot it (like wind chimes).

I bought two of these, each for a one-year old. One was a grandson and the other a nephew. These are truly amazing. Great quality, and full of features such as a carrying case, and optional rubber gongie things (my technical language). I was VERY pleased!!!

Everyone will tell you to go to a small builders and spend $3k before even touching a tone field... I wanted to find out if I like it and this was perfect for that. The ding came in 0 cents of, 2-6 about 7-15 cents off, and the top 3 somewhat unplayable. BUT, it's a cheap instrument and depending on which way you push the tone field, it will raise or lower the fundamental note. I was able to tune it so far so all the fundamentals are within a few cents from the note. It sounds GREAT and I am happy I purchased this first.

My grandson, who has special needs, has a natural talent for music. He began playing lovely melodies instantly. The sound is soothing. The carrying case is a must. If he continues with this drum I will gladly purchase the full size drum next.

My granddaughter loved it, she is 8. I saw this advertised and they said it was good for ADHD. It wasn’t on my granddaughters Christmas. The next day she said “IT WAS HER BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT!†She played with it for hours with her cousin who used the first steel tongue drum that I had purchased. I tried it out loving it myself. I had ordered a 12 inch and decided I should order a 10 inch for my granddaughter. It was a good choice as she thought the bigger one was a little much…. on the other hand, my other granddaughter who is 11 love playing my 12 inch tongue drum and she wanted to take it home. I didn’t give it to her as, I liked playing it. It’s great for memory because you have to remember all the numbers to play the song. I highly recommend ordering one or two, if you have two kids, they can play together without fighting. Another Win! The sound is very relaxing and not annoying. Another HUGE PERK with owning a steel tongue drum they didn’t ask to have their cell phone😄 For that I am so PLEASED, there will be two more drums ordered so everyone has one. If this gets them away from their phones, it’s worth every penny they costs!!! This is the BEST GIFT I HAVE EVER GIVEN TO MY GRANDCHILDRENâ¤ï¸
